Founded as a means to heal grief through music, D Faktion Nyne is a multi generational ‘family band’ that gives deeper meaning to the term. Performing Waila, a form of Tohono O’odham folk music, has bonded this family through multiple tragedies and many more triumphs. From his musical origins playing with his grandfather, Damon Enriquez, the father of this family has always used music as a means to connect with his family and his community. Now he counts 150 high school and middle school students as his pupils, and has traveled extensively with his family performing Waila as D. Faktion Nyne.
D Faktion Nyne is 4 brothers, 2 sisters and their dad having fun playing music together (Chotis, Mazurkas, Wailas, Kwaliyas, Cumbias). They have no rule's, no boundaries, and ALL members have equal say in everything they do.
