      @@JoshThrives i had immediate gains like you. session 1 felt relief within 24 hours. session 2 allowed me to play basketball pain free. i'm done with session 8 now and am, with 1 leg, getting a full ATG squat with no assistance. so like you i'm really excited where i'll be. 1 month in i'm feeling great. Excited for month 3. Then standards, pro, math squat. etc. 2 years time i'll have bulletproof knees at 37! exciting :)

    I had knee problems and just hearing about your beast/savage program hurts me horribly. My knees are good now but not nearly where they used to be. What I had is a microfracture of the cartilage (whatever the real name) and I went to see a kinesiologist who had a similar approach to KOT guy, I was doing exactly those exercises. I think I'll try the program after hearing more testimonies. Thanks for your feedback!

    Everything you said in the beginning is so relatable. I’ve been lifting hard for over a year, walking 15,000 plus steps/day most of my adult life, etc. My fear has always been loss of mobility. Then one day I felt pain at the back of my knee. Then it locked. And then locked again, etc. 3 weeks later- torn meniscus in both knees and grade 3 and 4 chondromalacia patella with osteophytes. Supposed to discuss surgery tomorrow, but I’m not just going to accept that.

    Dude! I did kettlebells and my knee hurt so bad I almost went to the ER. I couldn’t relieve the pain in any position. It felt like a root canal without novacane and I couldn’t sleep.
    I immediately stopped, prayed to God, Jesus healed me, I started walking and biking everyday and now just bought the KOT program.

    Whats the duration of the first work out in zero? Can you give a brief on what the first work out involves? Intrigued to try the program, but still on the fence doing more research!

    • @JoshThrives
      @JoshThrives  Před 3 lety +1

      Depends how much of it you can do without pain; if you do everything it takes about 20-30 min max. It's basically all the bodyweight exercises you see him do in order. Tib Raise, Calf Raise, Patrick Step, ATG Split Squat, etc

      @@rahimagoga4839 Thanks for asking. I struggled for 10 months in PT and different programs, including Ben's, which all caused pain and didn't help, it turns out I had torn my meniscus, have a plica in that knee, and a cyst. So I am having surgery (next week - finally). After that's fixed I am hoping to go back to Ben's program and see if it helps.

    arthritis/pain in knee could be caused by a root canal that is still infected. If your pain continues even though you're way into the ATG system, you might want to look into this. It might be moreso arthritis though, so maybe it might not apply

    is it functional movement-based or do they focus on muscle building as well? I want to help strengthen my knees, but also my legs in general and my upper body...

    • @JoshThrives
      @JoshThrives  Před 3 lety

      They do give you an upper body workout for the other days, but the zero workout itself is the only thing for legs. Dense is a better full body program I'd say, once you've completed zero. I'd just do the workout they say then if you're still feeling like you want more, treat it as a warmup and do some more lifts/etc

    • @noahg-123
      @noahg-123 Před 3 lety

      @@JoshThrives thanks, definitely looking into going forward with this as i want to become a more limber and better moving athlete (as far as functional movement goes). But i dont want to leave the muscle building in the dust, with zero atleast. Only reason Im considering not skipping straight to dense is because i want to build my fundamentals with body weight, so i guess ill do that (upperbody) with my own program, coexisting with this...

    Hi I feel like I'm going through similar injuries to you. I have partial labrum tear in my shoulder, similar to what you mentioned radial nerve symptoms. And Patella Femoral knee pain, I've just started the KOT program but want to incorporate exercises for upper body. What type of exercises did you do for your upper body? Or are u focusing on mobility work? I feel debilitated with my injuries. Pls help!🙏😊 any tips will be greatly appreciated.

    • @JoshThrives
      @JoshThrives  Před 3 lety +1

      Definitely just do what you can and try not to put too much pressure on yourself to get more done than your body is allowing. Know there will be a time (it might be years from now) that you'll be better.
      I did do a normal full upper body routine myself. The program gives a lot of good bodyweight exercises which are good but if you have weights or gym access you can do better

    • @NeutroniummAlchemist
      @NeutroniummAlchemist Před 3 lety

      there are 3 12 week programs. The second, called dense, goes more into shoulder stuff, but there is an optional mini shoulder workout in the first part as well.

    • @parisjackson3158
      @parisjackson3158 Před 2 lety +1

      Ya i got advice for you. When you are doing the work outs, really listen to your body. I got the Knee Ability Zero book and he explains that the sharp knee pain is bad(of course) but the burning muscle feeling is good. When you are working out and you feel any knee pain what so ever, thats your limit, temporarily. Don't push past that until one day it no longer hurts. But hey, I'm just some dude. I'm no expert. Good luck!

    • @JoshThrives
      @JoshThrives  Před 4 lety +1

      It's slow progress, but there's most definitely progress. My condition, patellar fat pad inflammation, gave me basically chronic irritation, like the insides of my knees are all rubbing together constantly, and instead of having that feeling every single day, it's down to about 20% of days, and I feel noticeably better on days following the prescribed exercises. I can definitely tell it's helping, but I can also tell it'll probably be a while still before I'm doing knee over toe lunges with weights haha

    Nice man!! Look after yourself. A friend of mine had to get a double hip replacement at age 32 as his years of playing serious rugby had left him with hips usually seen in someone aged 70+ 😱!!
    Also, have you been to a foot clinic? Maybe you need inserts in the souls of your shoes? Could be a gait problem? Just an idea :)
    Peace out!!

    • @JoshThrives

      That's my nightmare haha.
      I've never had problems of that nature before and have always walked straight and had decent posture.
      It's pretty obvious to me it's just an overuse injury and I tend to believe most problems that don't require surgery can be solved through the proper ratio of strength, flexibility, and recovery.
