- We're so excited to be back cruising Alaska with Princess! We have 7 nights aboard the Grand Princess sailing from Vancouver, Canada to Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska. Along the way we will visit Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay and College Fjords.
In today's cruise vlog we give you a stateroom tour, show you some of the ship, and get our journey underway!

We got off the Wonder exactly a week ago today! What a magical experience. I could cruise Alaska every year and not get bored. Looking forward to reliving the trip through Princess eyes. Thanks for sharing as always.

We were on the Grand Princess last year and loved it
It’s such a wonderful classic ship, we loved the look and feel of it!
I had one of the forward facing cabins on the Royal Princess about the same time you guys took your trip last year. Subsequently we took a cruise with an inside cabin....hated it. Felt the balcony added so much to the cruise experience. Looking forward to seeing what you do in the ports this year. Based on your electric car trip out of Skagway I reserved the car for our trip in September.
We liked the inside stateroom, but I (Adam) still prefer the balcony rooms. However, the inside room was much more comfortable than we expected!
I couldn’t travel without balconies

Whaaaaat?! We were on the Grand Princess May 20 - 27. Did we just miss you, or were we on the same cruise?
We were on the same one haha! Too bad I couldn’t go to the pool, I saw like 2 people go 😭
We were on the Grand Princess in 2017 on a cruise to Hawaii AND was on Deck 5 behind the art display too. Going to look back to see what cabin we were in. Can't wait to see all your vlogs on this ship and trip.
We loved the classic look and feel of the ship. It reminded us so much of the Disney wonder and magic!
Love the grand class Princess ships. Heading out on 2 Princess cruises in three weeks. Princess is our favorite cruise line. Their crews are exceptional. You can get sideways interior on Riviera deck mid aft. They are larger for the same price. There are usually 4 like that. Much better than their basic interior
Ooooh, we love the sideways inside rooms! I didn’t know they had those on princess! We need to look for those
@@LeggLife They have them on most every ship. The mini suites have 2 sets of curtains in them. I don't know if it will be enough for you. They keep out the light. Curtains at the balcony door and another by the bed to split the room.
This brought tears to my eyes, cruising with family is the best holiday. We managed to get both daughters and our Granddaughter in April and it was amazing, Very busy with a Toddler, but precious memories. Enjoy! Thank you for the tour. 😊

7:00 You definitely don't HAVE to have a veranda room to cruise Alaska. It just depends on how much you want to appreciate the scenery from public areas vs your private space. It all comes down to personal preference. We're taking Royal Princess from Whittier to Vancouver in June 2024 and we have a balcony room so we can enjoy the scenery in private when we want to.

We just got off the Disney Fantasy last Saturday. I bought a piece of Disney artwork. I can't wait till I get it.

They will hold art auctions throughout the cruise. And the art gallery on Grand Class ships has a larger footprint than on the Royal Class ships. FYI - for Princess Prizes, only guests who have Princess Premier are eligible.
I'm also a Sherri! :) From one Sherri to another who is also a light sleeper, I highly recommend wearing an eye mask!
Oh believe me, we never travel anywhere without an eye mask for Sherri! That’s a necessity!

The ship looks so familiar. We have just been on the P&O Pacific Adventure and it used to be the Golden Princess. They are sister ships.

That’s a good question. I would say, if a balcony is doable for you from a price perspective, yes. So much of the Alaska cruise is about the beautiful scenery all around, and a balcony would help you experience that easier.

Honestly, we don’t get the art fixation on cruise ships. We love looking at the art, it’s beautiful, but we’ve never gone on a cruise and thought “we’re so excited to buy art on this cruise!” 😂😂

The only problem I would have is I'd be claustrophobic.

Yes! There is a shampoo / conditional bottle and a body wash bottle in the shower
Does the grand princess have a juice bar?
