one of the most interesting routes in the samTrans network, the 294! the highlight of this route is the really tricky, very curvy CA-92. there are some amazing views on CA-92, with a lot of bodies of water, woodsy areas, and farms around half moon bay. this route acts as half moon bay’s caltrain connector, though the walk to the hillsdale station from the mall is quite long. prior to reimagine samtrans phase 1, the 294 deviated to CSM to provide service to college students living in the coastside region. low ridership + CSM waiving up to $50 per lyft trip led to this deviation being removed in august 2022.
