    Thanks for the tip to remove the sleeves! I had been using a rubber mallet which took way longer

    Seems to jump the tapping of the bolts to the assembly is removed 😜 I managed to get mine off with a bit of prying as well. Nothing compared to the butcher who had changed my ball joint a few years ago. I will be having words now I seen what they did

    Do you have to replace gaskets on the hub lock thing?

    • @TEKNOFIED
      @TEKNOFIED  Před 2 lety

      There was no old gasket that came off neither was there a new one in the bearing kit.

      @@TEKNOFIED you should buy them. They are only 80c each at Repco. Keeps the water out

    Occy is short for octopus strap. Jockeys are short so the horses don't have to carry too much weight....

      Elastic Strap, Bungee strap, Jockey Strap, Occy strap, Tie Down strap. An item called by many names. I wonder if they are called something else.

    Got any tips for loosening the 52mm nut without a 52mm socket if its tight? Im planning on doing my bearings. But i reckon my ones are both going to be tight.

    • @TEKNOFIED
      @TEKNOFIED  Před 8 měsíci

      First Sock it overnight with Auto trans fluid to help penitrate the thread. You could use a plummers tool or use a chisel with a 2 pound sledge hammer. I know buying a 52mm socket for a once off job it very costly but you are better off getting the right tool for the job.

    • @TEKNOFIED
      @TEKNOFIED  Před 9 měsíci

      Yes, Both sides. In the clip you can see I removed a seal to remove the bearing on the inner side. Cheers

    What if I was less liberal with replacing the old grease? Didnt put as much new grease in as I took out?

    • @TEKNOFIED
      @TEKNOFIED  Před 2 lety

      You really do need to repack the bearings and replace as much old with new as you can and put in a good amount. It will be the difference between how soon you will be replacing the bearing again. Instead of 10 years maybe 2 years.

    Hey mate do you know how tight the axle bolt should be (the one you removed with the rattle gun at the start)?

    • @TEKNOFIED
      @TEKNOFIED  Před 9 měsíci

      I don't know the torque specs. I go by feel unless I am doing a head gasket. cheers

    Heyy mate having a bit of trouble getting the locking hub back on and lined up any suggestions??

    • @TEKNOFIED
      @TEKNOFIED  Před 8 měsíci

      You need to turn the locking hub on as it goes in. If it isn't lining up and going on keep trying one tooth over until it goes all the way in.
