My mouth dropped when he mentioned the vines. Key tactic for me in East Texas. Big a greenbrier thickets or thinned pines and when you stand on a trail and look out across it and you see those vine walls crawling up a big sweet gum or cluster of you on , it casts a big shadow, if you make a B line for it you will almost always jump a deer out from under it!
If you can catch the pups before their eyes n ears open the first 2 weeks after birth ,you can definitely make a pet . They’re still gonna show wild tendencies even caught during this time. After eyes open it’s almost impossible to turn them into a pet . Good stuff guys ! Love the pod cast
My lab brought home a wild turkey egg last year and I put it under one of our chickens to see if it would hatch and sure enough it did a couple weeks later. However, that baby turkey always had the instincts of a wild turkey somehow.
What I hate about Oklahoma all you can do is select doe or buck and adult or fawn. No age structure no points nothing it’s pretty stupid they can’t add 2 questions. Hell you used to have to put the damn weight of the deer on your tag and when you checked it in at the check in station. Man i rember as a kid going by a check in station to grab lunch on opening day of rifle and there was always a parking lot full of deer hunters with deer.
The cape on that deer is primo!
