They didn't deserve last place this year, but Germany deserved last place in most other recent years, including in 2017 and 2021, when they 'only' finished 2nd to last.

Last song in Eurovision finals gets more views because people search to see how terrible was last place. Now i agree that Germany this year didn't deserve last place, but they might get less views at any other bottom 5 place.
