Isaac Shapiro is an internationally known spiritual teacher. Over the years, Isaac saw the extent that trauma pervades human functioning, making the felt sense of the Truth of who we are difficult to live. He now includes a somatic approach, which is quite rare and refreshing in Advaita / 'eastern' communications.

Oh, so nice to see Isaac again. He was my first Satsang teacher back in 1997, when he just came from Papaji (who died during the silent retreat I attended). After 2 weeks of this silent retreat, my mind fell completely silent. For months there wasn't even a world. The "problem" was, that when the mind returned, it was trying to go back to this samadhi experience. What followed were many years of intense seeking - all in the believe, that "I" should stay as this silence or awareness that "I am". Since this is an awareness teaching (like all Satsang teachers coming from Papaji - NeoAdvaita) there was never a questioning of this "pure awareness" or consciousness and with that, the "I" was very much alive. "I" wasn't a person, but pure awareness. Basically that's still the same "I" in just another costume. Imagine the surprise, when it became obvious, that there is no awareness, no consciousness and no I. It's all made up. 😃 With that, of course all the Mojipapajiji stuff fell away... Nice to see Isaac again after 25 years, but I had to stop watching when he started with his "attention" teaching. Strangely what appears here is gratitude and love for him, but at the same time, it's impossible to listen to it. Thanks Alex for your interviews - I also love to listen to your questions 😃
