I travelled to Italy 2 years back and planned everything myself, I agree doing things yourself is tricky in the beginning, you will get some things wrong but you genuinely only get better with time. Just wanted to add, public transport is literally so good its scary how good it is in Europe!

One more tip for the Visa applications, START EARLY! It can get very frustrating trying to find an appointment date when you are looking too close to your departure date. The website I used was very arbitrary in terms of allocating slots. If you can, book the premium lounge; you pay a small fee, but avoid all the queues and get to sit in an air-conditioned, comfortable space. Creating a checklist of all the documents you need also helps to stay on track and get organised. Enjoy!

How long are are you staying? Hotels/ Airbnbs/ resorts? Are you sightseeing or here for leisure? Are you shopping at high end places? …25+ could make your trip very comfortable. Just my 2 cents.

I always see these travel agents adding airport taxes to the advertised total amounts they show.

Flight Centre is horrible. They never reply and if they do, it’s ridiculously priced and unreasonable.
I suggest WOLO travel. I’ve used them for Bali and Turkey. Best.
