Me too lol.. I have a few different style hinges I could use, have to make a run to the hobby shop for some tubing, I want to keep it simple yet effective.. Have a good one Steven!
Nice work Kreg. I’m currently doing the same. Cutting doors off a Revell Bronco. I’ll be following your build on the ‘Stang to see how it’s going. Keep on modeling brother! Jeff of the North
Nice, the Bronco would look good with the doors off, I still plan on cutting the hatch off on the next video.. You will have to email me some pic of your build..
Excellent work as always Kreg! I was going to suggest using a template from another t-top car, but heck, you made a tool! Great idea! Awesome work as always 👍
That was really cool. I will be following this because I have never opened the doors on a model or T-tops. I just opened the trunk on the 56 T-bird Gasser. Thank you Kreg.✌
Pretty brave doing this to such a rare kit, I’m looking forward to seeing more updates. I’m also interested in the t-top 84 Capri . Would love to see more of that. It probably won’t fit in your spray booth, though !
Have you seen the A4 Garage channel's videos where he made opening doors on a Mustang? I was fascinated how accurately that guy did the inner door jams. (actually the whole model enhancements he did was blue ribbon work) I'll be interested in seeing how you do the center line roof channel connection for the t-tops.
The last shot of the body reminded me of when I was replacing the torque boxes on my daughters 65 convertible found out how flimsy the body was once one was removed
Great job so far Kreg! You gotta be really gentle with that. I didn't know if you've been following along with the wagon I'm doing where I cut it the tailgate, leaving just that really thin panel across the back. Everything was fine till I put it in the Tamiya body holder last night. Snap!! So keep that in mind when you go to prime and paint the Stang. Might be better to just hold it by hand
Thanks for the advise Pappy, was working on it last night cleaning/sanding door openings and broke off the left a-pillar at windshield... Yes very fraddrill! I will go check out your build, have not been on Y-T mutch last couple weeks to watch videos, need to get caught up.. Have a good one!
Thanks Mike, for sure those are my favorite also, along with those years had the GT in the moulding behind the door and the Capri's had the RS on the moulding cool cars..
Great project going there Kreg looking forward to seeing the finished product I’m sending you a mustang kit for your collection just hope you don’t already have one
Hey Kreg great work have you try to fishing Ling to help cut your doors out I used to use it when I was younger you start to cut doors like normal then use fishing line as a saw
dou your insane but i get why you want this have you thought about beefing up the rockers w/some brass tubing just to keep the integrity of the body😁🤩😎
Points file? Now you’re showing your age 😅 Haven’t forgotten about that mustang kit I’m remodeling the kitchen for the wife and you know how that works
I know I thought of that.. My first car was a 63 Plymouth with a one barrel slant six, points and condenser.. Won't start? Check those points lol.. Your good, I know how projects go.. trying to build a 30' front porch on the front of the house along with everything else.. Good stuff.. Have a good one Dave, have fun on the kitchen!
Will usually order online from Hobby Nut, other then that my go to is Great Lakes Hobbies in Sterling Heights, a little drive, but worth it, or sometimes to Riders in Flint..
Very nice work! Can't wait to see how you hinge the doors and do the top. Thanks for sharing
Nice work so far. You have shown how gentle you have to be when cutting out things from a body. Thanks for sharing.
Genius idea making the scribe tool to follow the windshield.
Thank you 👍🏿 I crush my a pillars a couple times
Kreg the amt version has the t top insert that goes in place after cutting the roof out. That is going to be a big difference in the build.
That'll look great when you're done, but thats a wild project!👍
Good ideas, and progress. The final result should be quite nice! 😎👍
That's going to be epic build Kreg ❤😊
Nice work Kreg! Big endeavor! I'm looking forward to seeing your progress 😎👍
Looking good it be awesome build. Jon
This is quite ambitious Kreg!!! But will turn out fantastic and win best of show at the DAAM coming up.
Some great tricks on how to do this, thanks for sharing Kreg
Thanks, one of those learning as I go, have some more to come cutting the hatch off to display it open. Have a good one!
Really excited to see how you do the hinges and door jams!
Me too lol.. I have a few different style hinges I could use, have to make a run to the hobby shop for some tubing, I want to keep it simple yet effective.. Have a good one Steven!
That is some awesome work, Kreg. Looking forward to the next episode
Thanks, looking to get the doors made up next.
Nice work Kreg. I've opened one trunk so far, not quite ready to try doors yet. Lol

Excellent work as always Kreg! I was going to suggest using a template from another t-top car, but heck, you made a tool! Great idea! Awesome work as always 👍
Thanks Mike, I sat and thought about the curve around the front glass, and thought of a woodworking project I did using this, worked just as good..
Looking good Kreg. I don't have the patience for that
That was really cool. I will be following this because I have never opened the doors on a model or T-tops. I just opened the trunk on the 56 T-bird Gasser. Thank you Kreg.✌
Thanks Mark, this is my second time cutting a body, first for me on the doors. Have to pick up some metal tubing this weekend to start on door hinges
That's cool. Hope to see it finished.
Thanks Ron, time to get started on the hinge detail after getting it some clean up..
Pretty brave doing this to such a rare kit, I’m looking forward to seeing more updates. I’m also interested in the t-top 84 Capri . Would love to see more of that. It probably won’t fit in your spray booth, though !
off to a great start.. thx 4 sharing.. vinny
Thanks Vinny, Have to get some tubbing and start on the hinges..
Oh man, I had to go dig out my Fox bodies out of the stash! I’ve got a pace car I might do in orange or blue. 😎🏁
Nice that would look good in the blue, I have another one had thought of building in a different color.. Have a good one Ron!

Good luck 👍👍
Great video. I may have to try it on my next build.
Great work!! Way to tedious for me though.
Great video. I'll be looking for the next post. 85, 86 is my favorite nose on the fox body. Tough to find tires for those TRX wheels. I'll be watching
Best thing to do is use the new 16in. TRX wheels from LMR.
Thanks Mike, for sure those are my favorite also, along with those years had the GT in the moulding behind the door and the Capri's had the RS on the moulding cool cars..
Great project going there Kreg looking forward to seeing the finished product
I’m sending you a mustang kit for your collection just hope you don’t already have one
Thanks Dave Appreciate it.. I would more then be happy with any year of Stang.. Thanks You!
Wow, those are some amazing mods you are doing. Saw the shout-out Dutch did and came over. New sub here!!

Kreg, you should check out A4 Garage. That guy adds opening doors and trunks to everything he builds and his work is literally mind blowing !
I have watched some of his builds, that guy does some amazing work!
@@kregskorner8851 depresses me actually 😆

Very nice project! Do you have a hobby shop in your area besides Hobby Lobby? I've been looking for a good one....and you're in my area :)
Will usually order online from Hobby Nut, other then that my go to is Great Lakes Hobbies in Sterling Heights, a little drive, but worth it, or sometimes to Riders in Flint..
