Yeah, that.. first story just absolutely reeked of being fake near the end. Everything was pretty believable up until Alicia called, because why tf would she even bother doing that if she knew what her parents plan was?
You can say it was pure stupidity, but in a real story, seems more likely the parents themselves would show up at the friends house after discovering their idiot daughter ruined the plan with Maria to scream at OP.
I'm gonna be perfectly honest, 90% of the stories on these subreddits are fake. I've made half a dozen that have been made into tons of videos here on CZcams and TikTok (at least I think on TikTok, I don't use it.) when I'm bored and have no assignments to do at college.
Key things are that for a post to go viral is you have to say you're female (my posts with OP being a guy get very little attention), it must be relationship, family drama, or both, and it should include something about no longer being with that person or being single. You'd be amazed by how much attention they get because desperate lonely guys on reddit who make comments, and then DM you straight up asking you out or slowly building up to it because they think you're at a low point.
It's honestly pretty funny seeing those desperate messages, and those posts quickly snowball once there's an initial wave of responses. I sometimes update my posts just to include that I have a new boyfriend which causes those same people to turn super hateful. It's absolutely hilarious to laugh at their messages with my friends before responding.

Regarding Story 1: Its reddit OP, you either have morons who will antagonize you when you've clearly done nothing wrong, or morons who think they can prove you're lying for clout.
Story 2: starting over at 30 is ok. People have this notion that you should have it all figured out at 30 but honestly everyone else is making it up as they go.
