Well Sanremo festival is not Italy's selection song for eurovision...Sanremo miusic festival was created before Eurovision and Eurovision was actually created on its model. Sanremo is a national miusic competition and after it is asked to the winner if they want to rapresent Italy to Eurovision, yes it is ASKED. For exemple Francesca Michelin was selected as the rapresentative of Italy because the winner of Sanremo of that year refused. Sanremo is another completely different story from Eurovision unlike other countries rapresentative selection 👍

Much respect for your attention to non-English lyrics and for your competence on vocal technique! I preferred other sanremo songs (rancore or elodie) but this emotional and powerful ballad is something Italians should be very proud of.

It reminds me of the song L' Essenziale from 2013, which is to this day one of my favorite ballads, the simplicity and beauty delivered by a great male vocalist....can't wait to see this on ESC stage. Funfact: this song is probably dedicated to Diodato's ex girlfriend who was in the competition as well. The song talks about how much is difficult to forget someone you love(d) as it always makes noise and the silence between you and that person becomes unbearable. 😢

This song really got to me the first time I heard it, even though I had no Idea what the words were about. I would recommend finding a version of the song with the English lyrics on screen. If you think the song is powerful on it's own, knowing what it actually about really gets you. I think this song should win the competition. I just hope votes don't get split between this song and Ulrikke's "Attention" since they are both big ballads. This just isn't my favorite for Eurovision 2020, but it's my favorite song in general--I listen to it constantly. I do enjoy a really good power ballad, and they really don't get any better than this.

Diodato is the far cousin of Sebastian Ingrosso from the swedish band "Swedish House Mafia" and is the far uncle of Benjamin Ingrosso who joined ESC few years ago representing Sweden. Diodato Lived in Stockholm for few years at the beginning of the century.

This song was my winner for Sanremo70 and I am glad it won although it's getting a lot of flak because many think it's not appropriate for ESC.
I completely disagree and I will write the same thing I wrote under Diodato's page: this song is perfect for ESC because, even if you don't understand the lyrics, it hits you right in the stomach and your reaction proves it.
Rumore is a false friend between Italian and English: it doesn't mean rumour but noise
He begs a past love (many speculate her to be Levante, also a contestant of Sanremo 2020), but the song extends to communication between individuals, to make some noise and break the unnatural silence that has fallen between them.

I don't listen to many songs, above all I don't listen to San Remo despite being Italian but this song makes me think of my grandfather and how much I miss hearing him prepare his coffee, whistling and waking up everyone, every holy day, at 6.30 in the morning.. i miss him... Sanremo is not a selection for the Eurovision. It is THE national music festival that celebrates Italian music. The Eurovision ticket is just an added bonus and the winner can decide if he/she wants to accept the offer. If the winner refuses the offer goes to the artist that placed second etc.
