That clinching touchdown pass Harbaugh to Kolesar is still one of the best things I've ever seen in 30+ years of Wolverine fandom.
As a Buckeye fan I remember the game was over on that play.

One of my earliest Michigan football memories. I was 8 years old and had been watching them for several years but this is the first year I really remember vividly, this game in particular.
Great memories, living in Michigan cool fall Saturdays, my father getting all worked up and nervous before the Michigan game. Family came first, but the Wolverines meant the world to him.
At least no one has to get nervous now. We all know who'll win. THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY!!!

Interesting watching this game and the offensive precision that this Bo coached team possessed. Clean crisp blocks, pulling guards and tackles putting a helmet on their men and driving them into the turf. Backs hitting the holes, and the OB throwing strikes in spite of pressure. Dominating line play by the D, and linebackers filling and covering the backs and QB. Ball-hawking secondary. And to think, the QB who played this game is NOW the coach of this Meechigan team!
Great memories. That play was a Harbaugh audible, and it took the wind out of the school down south.
One of my favorite games from my early Michigan fandom. I remember my dad being on the edge of his chair the entire game. He went nuts went Kolesar streaked down the sideline with the clinching score.
Spielman with the pornstache... I was at this game on about the 30-yard line, west side. When Kolesar broke open on that last TD pass, the roar that went up was the loudest thing I've heard there until Woodson's punt return in 1997.

Geez. Seeing that 85 defense stuffing the run, blowing up routes, creating turnovers, and generally being nasty and stubborn does the heart good.
Helped Ohio State ran a banged up running back.Yet even if Keith Byars was healthy no way Ohio State was beating Michigan in 85.

Love those big shoulder pads back in the day. How fans were hugging the players in the end zone after a touchdown (no way today) Also, so many players on the team that were from Ohio -wanted to play for Bo.
Look at all of the OSU helmets with few or no Buckeye stickers. Back then you really had to earn them

This team missed the National Championship by three points, a loss to Iowa 12-10...Iowa never crossed the goal, and a 3=3 tie with Illinois. Michigan had a touchdown called back on a bad call at Illinois that they should have won 10-3. Michigan later went on to defeat Nebraska in a come from behind win to go 10-1-1 and a number 2 ranking behind Oklahoma .
AJ GK Was that the same Hawkeye team that was bombed out of the Rose Bowl by UCLA?....meanwhile Michigan beats Nebraska in the Fiesta Bowl. Perhaps your argument would have merit if applied during the Big Ten season, but not at the end of the football season.
Well, you can say the Offense was anemic if you like, but if I remember this correctly Iowa lost to OSU, and of course the Wolverines beat OSU in A2 with a guy named Harbaugh as quarterback, oh yeah the number 1 defense in the country. the year before, 6-6...........
AJ GK They managed four field goals against that defense, in Iowa. Chuck Long was a great college football quarterback, drafted by the Lions, and well.......meanwhile Harbaugh was in the NFL of over a decade, became a coach and well.........
Don't get me started about how Michigan players and coaches helped Iowa have a football tradition........

Yes. A missed tackle v. Iowa and an Illinois field goal and Michigan would have won it all that season. But #2 in the nation was great!
