Yep, Jean never really exhibited her combat prowess in TAS so it's exciting to see it demonstrated here briefly. But given how easily Prime Trask was able to one shot Rogue, Morph, Wolverine, and Beast, she should have relied more on her defensive powers.

The way he kept saying "Mutant Neutralized" gave me the chills... As if proving a point that the x mens powers don't matter, only one prime sentinel is enough to destroy them... And I felt the pain for scott when trask disrespectfully says "Tell me ORPHAN..." .God.. The dialogue in the series is making me so emotional
Although short, an excellent DBZ-inspired battle sequence, especially with Jean fighting Trask in the air and with Cyclops firing his optic blast almost like it was a Kamehameha wave.

This was how she was always meant to be as a character. The OG series showrunners just thought she'd make a better damsel in distress. Magneto and Storm only became omega level 5 years ago. Jean had long been omega a good decade and a half before everyone else became omega.

I'm still confused how Morph managed to copy Quicksilver's super speed mutant ability here... if Morph can copy powers as easily as that, he'd be the most powerful among the group.
From what I gather,Morph's abilities not only change his appearance, but his cells alter into the physical strength, speed, agility, and combat awareness of the person he morphs too. He can't do anything internally, like energy blasts, telekinesis, or absorption. However, he analyzes the external characteristics, then his body mimics exactly to detail. Even when the character has wings, he compensates it into his body to fly. According to wiki, he's basically Play-Doh with extra steps.
Yet im sure he can do that for a long time and cant use those power to their full extend

Remember folks this Prime Sentinel is a first draft, can't wait to see what the upgraded models can do.
I remember when I first saw in the comics back in 2000.
Imagine going in for a simple surgery, it all goes well and then one month later you're transforming into a cyborgs because the neighbor's kid woke up one morning and could fly or shoot energy blasts.
Governments will turn their own people into weapons before letting minorities exist.

Wolverine has taken a hell of a lot worst than a flying robot arm and got right back up.
He's also taken less and been taken out of fights.
Even if he had gotten back up, what exactly would he have done to the Prime Sentinel that would have changed the outcome? Scott and Jean were the only ones who managed to put up a fight.

Since Morph can change into Magik, Quicksilver, Bob, Wolverine and Angel, I believe he can only copy abilities that are considered Physical Traits, Strengths and Attributes. Stuff like Telepathy, Manipulation of Objects and generating energy etc will most likely not be able to copy.
At this point is just what kind of things that are considerered as Physical to the mutants/writers because maybe he can be Rogue but will power draining be considerered as a physical attribute or a energy absorbtion power, so maybe Morph can't use her powers.
He is just an upgraded Mystique at this point but totally different to what Horseman Mystique is.
I think(if they let it) he can mimic banshee sonic scream. He can alter his voice box if he change any parts of his body

Considering Sinister had a hand in running the orphanage he grew up in it was an intentional dick move on his part.

Spoiler free sinister is able to to put robot dna onto humans to create sleeper agents like trask. If you watch the show I would say he will reveal how he can activate them but he did leave a clue in the episode

I like Morph, and I specifically like that Morph was the first X-man to attack Prime Sentinel Trask, but how is he not SEVERELY injured or dead from that hit at 1:01. It look like it DESTROYED him.

This show is nice, ive only been watching the clips but its epic. The way the scenes build up, Trask posing a threat and blasting off, the building collapsing with Rogue flailing all over, Logan jumping on Scott to do something lol( although I've hated Cyclops this is the best version of him I have seen) and Jean and Scott jumping to work out of the building. FIRE ASS SHIT 💪🏿💪🏿

I really wish the writers could get the Power sets right. Morph can look like other mutants, not duplicate their abilities. He isn’t Mimic. Making him able just to manifest ANY mutants ability at any time makes him omega level.

They keep doing Jean dirty. She's easily on of the Top 5 most powerful Mutants in the Marvel Universe and they keep having her get her shit kicked in like she's a fresh trigger still on training wheels. Frankly, at this point I'm hoping she Bonds with Phoenix again just so she isn't getting knocked out every two seconds.

Copying Quicksilver's speed? Was not expecting that from Morph.
Me neither. Up to that point the show did a good job having Morph only copy powers based on physical attributes, but if Morph can copy super speed how will the show runners define “powers based on physical attributes?” That could get completely out of control if they aren’t careful. Can Morph heal like Wolverine? Drain people’s life force with a touch? Fire optic blasts? Hell, can Morph imitate Mystique’s power and bypass the limits on his native shapeshifting? I honestly wouldn’t have stretched the boundaries of Morph’s power past shapeshifting into Colossus’s steel form, but part of Morph’s gimmick is that he never uses the same form twice. Morph’s use of super speed is also more novel than him using swords, claws, or super strength again, and the writers clearly care about ensuring Morph doesn’t repeat himself.
Quicksilver is fast due to some sort of muscular mutation in his legs or nerves/reflexes, so it's possible for Morph to do that... although I agree, this version of Morph is getting closer to Mimic...

if they have physical abilities. When he changed into psylocke, he can't use her psionic blades or telekenesis abilities but he can still fight using her ninja skills.

I love how they had Jean just toss the building. In the comics she may not be an Omega class telekinetic but she is still a very powerful one and her telekinetic abilities often get nerfed by anyone who writes her…so does her Omega level telepathy…which is strange to me because she’s an omega level telepath but she still somehow gets nerfed by writers. Not even Charles is an Omega telepath but still writers often make him seem more powerful than Jean even though she is actually classified as an Omega. Writers need to learn how to write.

No, Storm wouldn't have been able to do that at all. It's a Prime Sentinel. It's nothing like the Not-Mastermold that she had attacked in a previous episode. None of Storm's fake omega shenanigans would have done anything.

Technically, they didn't. When Morph rushes in as Quicksilver, Cyclops was blasting away from range (although you can see two shots bounced off of Prime Trask). Then Beast jumps in to assist Wolverine during his melee and actually scored a hit before Trask knocked out both. At that point it was just Jean and Cyclops left.

Beast never did shit in the original series, he wasn't particularly strong, or defeated any powerful enemies, he was literally just there, but the fandom never branded him "useless", lol.

Beast's combat ability is limited as a ground-based melee fighter, but he was excellent in a support role in TAS. And he did plenty in Obsession fighting Apocalypse and the Phalanx Saga.

She was already omega level back in the 90s, meaning her telepathy and telekinesis were without limits. The Phoenix Force is a cosmic entity that only prefers Jean as its avatar. It's not a part of her powerset. Compare that to the likes of Magneto and Storm who had always been just alpha level. They only became omega in 2019.
There is an evolution of Morph and Jean in this episode, Morph had some modifications by SInister, that explained his other level of power, and in the case of Jean, that was the gift of The Phoenix, don't forget on animated series, she is alive by the combination of fragments of souls of the other members, Phoenix granted her with a power level up, which is a good way to award her soldier like sacrifice.

Quicksilver is faster then the speed of sound, how are his punches not causing sonic booms, they should have a higher impact because of his speed, more speed= more kinetic energy... I honestly hate how speedsters are always portrayed as weakling when they should by logic be the strongest if not one of the strongest. Sorry for the rant😅

Superhero comic books don't work like shonen anime and manga, the superheroes are stuck at predetermined levels of power. Sometimes they do get power boosts, but they are just temporary; eventually, one way or another, they always go back to the levels they usually operate at.
Advanced Sentinel models always posed a problem, especially since they can usually adapt against mutant powers. But Prime Trask was easily defeated by an EMP pulse here. Although Magneto is out of commission, Storm can easily generate that. So she can turn the tide when she returns.
