No one can despise this voice of the angels! I have been a follower of counter-tenors, since the 80's, and Hansen is among the greats! Bartolli, Scholl, Jaroussky, Daniels, et alii. I would also include the melange of voices in the movie, "Farinelli". I cannot get enough of it!
David puts just the right amount of heart-rending emotion into his flowing rendition of this aria - and in front of a live audience too. A rising star of countertenordom.
absolutely amazing voice!! when I would turn away from the screen, I'd swear I was listening to Marilyn Horne, that's how fantastic his voice is! I'm very impressed with this young man's voice!
I was lucky to sing in choir when he was singing Bach's Matthäus-Passion in Milano. Outstanding voice, amazing technic and marvelous as a person. I just wish he had 15 minutes time for talk. Really great artist!!

Do all countertenors have to look like they model for Gucci and have to be able to sing high Cs nowadays?? Is there any hope for those who look average at best and can sing a high G on a good day...?!?!
