  • New clues are emerging this morning on just what, if anything, is living in Scotland's notorious Loch Ness. Speculation about the Loch Ness monster - nickname “Nessie” - has raged for year. But last year, professor Neil Gemmell decided to take a new approach and study the DNA of the loch. After months of research, Gemmell delivered his conclusions to the waiting media this week. Michelle Miller reports.

The experiment was a complete waste of time in regards to proving Nessie’s existence. The research team brought absolutely nothing new to the table, the giant eel theory isn’t new or groundbreaking because it’s been said before on many occasions. Of course there’s eels in the Loch as most Scottish Lochs do. I’m absolutely baffled that they aren’t focusing on the 25% of DNA that couldn’t be explained or identified, surely that’s more important. The research team nailed their own coffin by disclosing that they didn’t find any seal or otter DNA even though both animals live and visit the Loch frequently. Here’s another one...Scotland DOES have native reptiles which have been known to live around the shores of the Loch.
For the record I do believe Nessie is real!

However, later analysis revealed that the scale of the photo was misleading and that the “monster” it depicted would only have been about 2 or 3 feet long. It is now largely agreed to have been an elaborate, and fairly successful hoax.
In 1954, sonar readings taken by a fishing boat showed something large keeping pace with it around 500 feet below the surface.
There have been several attempts to capture video footage of Nessie as well, with the most impressive coming from a lab technician in 2007.
A marine biologist at the Loch Ness centre described it as the best footage he’d seen, although he also suggested the creature in it was likely an otter or a seal.
Idk if this is real. I'll say its not a otter or giant eel OR seal. So its the loch ness "dinosaur"
