The journeys of the Spanish Treasure Fleet are fascinating. From Peru on the Pacific side they had two land routes across the isthmus into the Atlantic, depending on intelligence as to where in the Caribbean pirate fleets might be waiting to attack them. From Portobello they sailed north to Havana ("The Haven") in Cuba, an impregnable port and their secure base. From there north again through the narrow channel between Florida and the Bahamas, and home to Seville. There was also the Manila Galleon which traded with treasure in the Philippines, and used mainly Acapulco to off-load.
If pirates were watching Portobello, they sailed on northwards along the Pacific coast to Acapulco, and then moved the treasure overland via Mexico City to Vera Cruz, from where they set sail again for Havana. Cat-and-Mouse game on a grand scale. (see Wikipedia "Spanish treasure fleet")

Well, I thought perhaps I might be able to look up that square rigged ship Kampen NL but perhaps that is its home port ? But then I watched more closely, Gulden Leeuw is the ship, amazing with all the sails up ! Wow, and to be visiting one of the craziest ports re pirate ports in history ! And the home of statue Cristo Negro, Black Christ,
