GO KARTING TIPS FOR BEGINNERS
Thomas demonstrated significant discipline in defensive racing. Way to go! You guys are both fantastic drivers.
At 2:47 your front axle was in line with his rear axle but he didn't leave the space. It was not a fair move... All the time you have to leave the space!
Agree, quite a dirty move. Hard but not fair racing
How have I just discovered this? Love the commentary and also the video, loads of work has gone into making this one. Learned a lot watching you drive. Proper stuff!!!
Thank you for this amazing tutorials!
Hi. Polish?
What a race!!!
Thomas is a great driver!
And you are a great pilot and also a very good speaker, thanks for sharing the video, for maintaining humility and sanity in defeat, greetings from Chile.
No karting places near me but I always kart on vacation. In a few days I'm gonna drive a few hundred miles just to get to a nice track with my friend. Trying to brush up on my knowledge, as I currently haven't been in a kart for at least a year and a half now, and my only knowledge on it is from F1. lol! Thanks for the info!! I liked and subscribed after watching most of your vids!
If you did a video on double apex turns, decreasing radius turns (the tricky ones that tighten in on the exit), or chicanes that would be epic!
that was intense, thanks!
Thanks for these awesome vids man
Loving this channel 👌👌
Thomas has solid defense!!
Would it be possible to do a short vid on long sweeping fast corners ?
Well no, he wasn't entitled to close the door. Idk how karting rules are but in F1 when you are in the position that you were in you are entitled to that line
I agree.
great stuff - thx!
think you were too close sometimes resulting in bumping into him or having to break a bit to avoid it.. easy to tell just sitting behind a screen but therefore I'd have tried to take just a bit wider line for getting max speed/ acc out of corners. also - as u mentioned in the vid - u couldve used the 3 slow karts better trying to create smth there.
Good idea!! I will definitely try that next time 😉
you didnt seem to have any problem keeping up, what if you had braked just the slightest bit longer on a turn to create space so you could comfortably pick up speed to make it through the gaps in his defense
Im not the most experienced driver so i cant be sure but it sounds like a fair move to me
it seemed like the lack of space was slowing you down as you were bumping into the back of his kart and my "proof" of this is how easily you seemed to close the distance on thomas
Hey, I’m a junior and find the karting experience incredible. I’m looking for a racing kart that I can get that’s got decent durability as I’m not exactly an expert mechanic. Preferably under £2,000. Do you have any suggestions?
x30 engines are very beginner friendly: pretty reliable and quite fast. as far a chassis go i would look for something post 2015, make sure the chassis is well maintained and that it isn't bent from a crash... you should be able to find something under the 2k budget... good luck
i have a race today thanks for the tips
Good luck! I hope the race went well.
What was your best time on this track?
I mean this track is just impossible to overtake if you have a decent driver ahead
You could've gone around the outside and tried
He was not apexing that well in the 2nd hairpin
Why is there no blue flag ? Or even more sportmanship from the last ones
no fun with the tracks where all you have to do is hold the inside and its impossible to pass
You had the overlap therefore he should have gave you racing room, certainly not entitled to close the door. Penalty to Thomas
2:46
that’s not hard racing…it’s an unfair move, he knew you were about to overtake him so he turned into you
That track looks horrible. How hard is it to make fun go kart track. I mean there doesn't seem like a lot of technical driving lines. Just a S and couple hairpins and short straight!
