Grow on you. It’s an interesting idea overall and I wonder what it feels like to wear. I’m sure Nike just got the idea of how to try their concept for their next phantom gx and get feedback while making money from it. I hope this is the direction they will take with the phantom gx df for the next generation because the lace cover doesn’t seem to make sense. Some people say it’s hard to untie and open up the to remove when it’s time to take them of and same when putting them on.

This boot is sick. Love the innovative outsole and love the high sock shape. I’m curious will it feature in the men’s game? Possibly CL final even? Reminds me of OG magista Obra mixed with newer phantom gt/gx. Seems like a boot players like iniesta / de bruyne would love. Or will men’s players stay away? I've had 2 ACL surgeries myself, so if that stud pattern can help reduce the risk of injury in that regard, I'm all for it. Not sold on them though, might have to try them out and see what happens.
Dont go for bladed studs man are u crazy bro. Wear TF boots as much as possible if you play. Im sure a doc told u to neva play again but work on strength around knee and you be ok surely. But never get these
@@tbn1996 I've got Tiempo FG's for that reason my dude! Conical and comfort. Actually just bought a pair of TF for the first time (Predators) and I've been missing out. I feel 100x better after I play using TF vs. FG.
It's not only about the way you move, it's also more about strengthening the area around your knee through injury prevention exercises. The studs will give you a false sense of confidence if you're solely getting them because of the stud pattern. Sorry about your ACL injuries though I've had friends who have also had multiple even one who had 3 on the same leg it can be one of the most unforgiving injuries
@@BourneIdentity45 say what you want but it does make a huge difference if you take round studs or bladed aggressive studs and you can feel the difference in knee pressure
I am about to have my ACL surgery tomorrow. What kind of boots would you recommend? I was using Puma Ultra 2.4. They were really comfortable but they do have bladed studs. I was thinking to go more into a leather boot instead. I’m sorry you had to go through that many injuries. Thanks in advance if you reply to this. I’m just trying to get as much input as I can regarding what to do to about injuring like this again.
They look nice! But not fully sold! They look super clean and for those with knee injuries 😮 maybe these would provide that extra confidence that you don’t strain your knees! This is coming from someone who personally tore there ACL ❤
Yeah, injuries suck. Kids dont understand how much they suck until they get them. Once you get surgery and have to recover you do feel different. Tbh I just had surgery for something not related to joints, nonetheless, this down time sucks plus it’s very difficult to get around even just sleep. Natural grass is the best. Wish we had more nice natural grass pitches in california. Cheers bro 🫡 nice channel

JayMike, the fit feeling of these boots is closer to the phantom gx or the mercurial superfly?
What would you say is a boot closer in feel to the Magista 2 with the collar? A phantom Luna or phantom gx?
The outsole without stiffness was a way for me to find the fake boots, but now after the GX, and now Luna, it’s a feature 🙄🙄🙄 so fake boots now can say their outsole is for flexibility
You can still track whether the boot is fake or not, FYI fake boots leave a mark or cracks when you try to bend or test them hope that helps😊
Mercurial vapor 15 also can be bent but since it has vaporstation material it won't have a trace

What size should i get if a pair of superfly 9s were loose in terms of vertical space and about half a thumbs space at the front? Should i size down to an 8.5? A size 9.5 in tempo legend 9 elites fit pretty tight and well

How you feel the circular bladed studs compare with all conical studs you might find in a Morelia 2?
I don't find this circle of bladed studs as comfortable or as seamless in terms of the rotational maneuverability compared to the classic conical studs. They do have a nice, quick release though and it feels like the F50 adizero from 2014, but a bit more condensed under the forefoot. /Jay

I think for the next adidas X boot they will release a version with leather like Messi wears. Just gotta wait to see when that happens.
@@futbolwatch90 Possibly but I would like a complete custom with a leather upper, a different soleplate, a modified heel area and a burrito tongue. Sometimes I do not understand the logic of Adidas, everyone knows that such a model will be sold out in a few minutes, so why not release it at least in a limited form?
@@agemodeor4981 I’m not quite sure they don’t do it. The concept of his boot is very interesting but it might be more complicated to pull off. Who knows to be honest. Only way of getting that is spending 10k online for his actual shoes.

I get what Nike are trying to do with the traction on the studs but it's not necessarily just simply about having better traction to prevent girls from getting knee injuries its more about the way the body and bones are structured around the knee and most importantly injury prevention through strengthening the surrounding area. I've had male friends who've turn ligaments in their knees and other friends who aren't as fortunate to have done it multiple times, the difference was never about what boot their wore it was about the ligaments around their knee. Usually once it's torn not only are you not the same player as you once were due to the constant fear of it happening again, but you also are more susceptible to it happening again especially if you have a false sense of being ready to play again. I'm not sure how these boots will do but the simply marketing them for girls because it could prevent them from getting injured is a poor strategy which could backfire heavily

@Ezesiri I actually don't watch that, though i know the channel, I was just lucky enough to have went to school at a sports academy growing up from the age of 13 and the first thing they had us doing before we entered the gym was injury prevention stuff for a whole year as well as learning all the right techniques (a whole year before we could even lift a weight).
What you said is really true
this soleplate isnt about having "better" traction in a sense though. its about having traction suited better for turns and twists, and in that way limiting the amount of undue force the knees etc are exposed to when playing, which will (at the very least most likely) help with avoiding situations where you get stuck in the ground while the rest of the body turns.
its kind of the same thing as why you shouldnt use fg boots on ag pitches. if you have too much traction in the wrong direction, itll put more strain on the limbs when things go wrong, so if the boots 'give' a bit easier it means youll get stuck in those situations less often, and that way limiting the chances of that ACL injuries and similar.
just from experience with (way too many different) boots: a lot of football fg boots are very oriented to giving you optimal traction near-straight forward, and a less optimal twist/turning traction (which is probably part of why i got my back twist injury some years ago tbh). this honestly seems like it could be good innovation for general limb health if we're a bit lucky, but its hard to say anything for sure yet. i do like the initiative though, and i highly doubt itll do any more damage than current soleplate tech anyway

Unrelated question: if Mizuno is rated so highly as a football boot, why do they not sponsor any pro's?
They concentrate on their native Asian market & supplying Asian players. Nike and Adidas dominate Europe and US markets that if they tried to compete marketing wise they would likely bankrupt themselves. But sometimes they sign an aging big name e.g. they currently sponsor Sergio Ramos, but I can’t think of many others over the years.

You’re asking if it’s difficult to put on because of the lace cover? If so, yeah I hear it’s difficult to loosen up the laces put them on and then tighten the laces. With that said, I hope they remove it as soon as possible and just give it more gripknit or just look like a Superfly.

I think it’s a limited run for the women’s World Cup. We will continue to get phantom gx, but I’m sure pretty soon they will do a remodelling of some sorts. Gx has only been around for about 6 months now. Don’t think they are killing it off yet. Such a good products always sold out.

The Magista was the line of boots which was replaced by the Phantom line. They both focus on creativity and control, and the Magista Obra 1 from 2014 was the first high-cut knitted boot which a lot of people loved. /Jay

I had the AG mercs, but the outsole broke, and I didn't really like the colors available for the phantom gx and the last time I tried them didn't really like the feel.
They will come out in AG at a later point, not in this release colourway though. /Jay
I had the same issue. Always bought mercs but the outsole broke on the last pair after a month. All the paint on the outsold also wore off immediately. 😕 Nervous to buy them again so shopping the GX and Luna.

My other daughter loves the tighter fit of mercurials but her last pair (the bronze color way) were junk so thinking of convincing her to try GX instead unless the next gen mercurials get better reviews.

Everyone experiences ankle and knee injury’s, to me it just sounds like Nikes excuse to make an entire new boot and then market the crap out of it. The tooling isn’t special or crazy. It’s just a newer version of a ctr 360 soleplate. Everyone knows conical studs provide the best rotation while your feet are planted.
