Great video thanks for sharing!
wait Rubiks commented on the video, and it only has 7 likes?
And only two replies?
Rubik! I used your tutorial and I actually became faster than my friend lol
darn
oop, Rubiks commented, means they're looking into it! Rubik's x Lego let's goooo!
I'm impressed! When I made a 3*1*1 cube I kept telling people it was impossible to make a fully working one at this scale. Well I guess I was wrong, nothing really is impossible with LEGO! Well done man!!
Yeah
hello!
Ayo its Tiago himself
thanks man! appreciate your work!
Omg it’s actually tiago
Heres a tip to improve: instead of a 1x2 and a 1x1 tile in the corner piece, you can use a L piece instead. I know its not much, but it could still bring it closer towards perfection. I am definetly supporting you in this!
1X1 plate i'm guessing?
tiles don't have studs
@@fortnitesexman he does mean a tile
@@tymtrap7508 No he doesn’t. He’s referring to the black layer of the corners: PuzzLEGO used a 1x2 plate and a 1x1 plate for the square corners, when he could have used a 2x2 corner plate.
LEGO naming protocol is currently as follows…
Tile: 1/3-height piece, with a smooth top face (no studs)
Plate: 1/3-height piece, with studs on top face
Brick: Normal-height piece or more (for example, the 1x2x2 brick, which is double-height).
A minifigure with no hat/hair piece is exactly 5 bricks (or 15 plates) tall.
@@TheEmeraldMenOfficial o i didn't know he was talking about that
Yeah he could have used that L piece
man this is a crazy build, super heartbroken to see it not get approved, but it doesnt mean lego doesnt have their eyes on it for in the future!

Hi tingman
CMON GUYS WE CAN DO THIS
I love you tingman
ITS TINGMAN LETSGOOOO I LOVE UR CONTENT!!!!
Say use code olor or TINGMAN LOL
I built this cube myself at home, and here's a suggestion that makes it more stable: replace the 2 Technic pins 3/4 on the yellow and white faces with studs with holes. makes it a lot more usable.
Edit: Also, replace the vent pieces with the 1x2 flat oval piece, to reduce catching when you turn.
dude thats so cool that you still found improvements. If you can manage to make the cube stable, that would be genuinely impressive
@@puzzLEGO There is one last problem: The pieces push each other apart as you use the cube. So even if you get it stable, it will de-stabalize itself over time. The current design is probably the best that there will ever be. Unless someone re-works the whole mechanism. Maybe a ball core instead?
Ball core would make a 2x2 viable. Actually I was also thinking of a 3x3 but modified and made more stable for a 2x2. Idk tho I don’t think I’m going to keep working on this Rubik’s project
That solving method was extremely unique, I've never seen someone solve a rubik's cube like that. Edit: That was the blindfolded method.
thats exactly what I was thinking it took me till halfway through to realize hes using bf method while not bf, his time does make it seem like a bf solve lmao
It’s not blind method it is similar but it’s a different way for learning beginners because for blind u do all edges then corners
This design is super clean!

Omg Elon bricks
Hello chicken brother
Its your decision but i wouldnt reccoment putting it on lego ideas.
The designt will be completely overthrown and you as the creator wont get any credit for your idea.
It would be better to release it as an moc for an alternative company where youll actually earn some money from it
Hi TD
As a SPEEDCUBER and LEGO LOVER you have no idea how much this excites me! I've been wanting an official Lego Rubiks cube for the past 5 years now, and this is the closest we've ever been! Great work! You've got my vote!
Yes
Pls dont speedcube this precious Lego built, lol^^
I’m with you there bro!
I'm the exact same I love speed cubing and lego Soo much
Ayyyy it YouCube!!!
A.W.E.S.O.M.E Love your video so much
Nice
Man you made my childhood
I know you
This is a really good and fun cube to build, but if you are looking for a fully functional cube this might not be the best option. It is cool to display but it falls apart really easily.
Wow! Time to order some more LEGOs... :)
The man who helped boost this years long project into popularity ❤️ Gotta share the support and credit where rightfully placed 🎉
Same here. I've got a bunch of Legos and I don't think I have all the parts that are actually needed. Mostly the 2x2 half triangle tile pieces and the 1x2 rounded corner plates. along with a few others.

Mr. Joshiemah! You are a cuber too?
WWAHT YOu?
I can't believe I only discovered this today and was so excited for it to go to production, only to find out that just YESTERDAY they rejected it ☹
Oof
It looks like it would come apart too easily.
@@jm329there have been plenty of big money backed sets that fall apart easily (Harry Potter class book sets for example).
@@kittygumdrop7442 But you don’t play with those.
THIS NEED TO BE A SET!
Seriously tho all lego & rubik cube lover will be so happy
My concern with this would be it falling apart the second you twist it a bit too hard, rather than seizing up like a regular cube.
To be fair, a lot of regular cubes just fall apart too 😅 but not into this many pieces haha
@@eel12333 I'll second this statement, and besides, if you're looking for a speed cube, you're not building one yourself out of LEGOs. This is for the fans of both products and the true fans know the limitations it'll have.
@@gregmosier5908 Doesn't mean it can't be improved further. Nothing wrong with simply wanting it to be as good as it can be.
@@schnek8927 reread the comment that I replied to. The guy is worried that it's going to fall apart if you try to twist it too hard. There was nothing said about trying to make it better, just a MINOR complaint about it not being good enough.
@@eel12333 yes, but only if you make it really lose.
This is great, because the 2x2 round tiles are so much easier to swap than the stickers when you don't feel like solving it! 😂
Most cubes are super easy to take apart. No need to ruin the stickers
I'm hoping that when u take the panels off it ruins the structure, that way there is no point in taking them off.
@@noturmom I'm hoping you stop being annoying
@@CrawliestCotter Agreed. The “just take the stickers off” is really bad. Not only does it damage the stickers, and adhesives are a pain to work with, but you literally have to move more than twice as many stickers around than if you swapped the pieces.
If you can’t solve the cube, don’t swap stickers, just take it apart and reassemble it, it’s better in every way.
@@haph2087 or, just don't get a Rubik's cube if you aren't going to actually use it. And doing it "for display" isn't a valid argument because almost all puzzles except for like jigsaws come out of the packaging already solved
Just ordered the pieces because i love Cubing and Lego :D

dudeee this is underrated
this lego set should be approved
The way you geek out over the part numbers and terminology adds a ton of flavor to a LEGO fan like me. And a Rubik's Cube?? Touching my heart strings there too! This is an amazing accomplishment and whether it's works out or not, know that tons fans admire your work.
I love how you can just keep improving on this build. I hope LEGO will consider this a set because I can tell you have put a lot of time into this and I could see a lot of people actually buying this set since it's such an awesome concept.
Man it's perfect!!!
This is amazing, I would buy this
What I like about this is it’s not a huge set that will cost $200+ like most LEGO ideas sets proposed by submitters. Sure those are cool, but bigger is not always better and some of those large scenery builds I feel like are similar to sets we’ve seen before. I appreciate a small build like this that makes you go “Wow! This can be built with LEGO?”
Honestly the ingenuity here blows my mind!
I'm not sure LEGO would make an exact replica of your model per se because it could all get very confusing in a build manual but you get my vote.
This is amazing!!!
Good work. I'll go do it too!
I’m soo happy someone figured out how to actually make a working Rubik’s Cube- and very well working one at that! I love Lego and Speedcubing but never figured out how to do this before! Thanks for taking my suggestion as the first one too- really appreciate you and your work!!

Good job
Really glad you made this.
Damn, you made it onto the video
yo congrats on the shoutout in the video
To don't get in trouble with the company rubik i would suggest to call it a magic cube. Great work mate. its so cool to finally have a working cube in lego bricks.
Yeah, the Rubik's brand is owned by Hasbro, which is a competitor. So a generic name would likely be needed.
A couple people raised this issue, the reason I kept it was that lego ideas had a few categories for acceptable IP’s / trademarks so I just kept it. Lego are probably smart enough to change if they want
I think Lego can manage to make a deal to use the Rubik's brand.
Literally, its the translation of how we call it in portuguese actually
@@BoardGamesBricksHobbies it looks like it is even more complicated than that. It used to be owned by Rubiks brand and licensed to Hasbro, but was sold to Spin Masters last year.
Worst case scenario we just need to get the Spin Masters team to license this for humanity's greater good. Can't see Lego wanting to do an "off brand" knockoff...
Amazing job keep up the good work!
I've been doing LEGO (technic) for a couple years now and that is just so cool.
Can't wait to see this go further. Already supported on ideas page. Good luck. And hope to keep an eye out on the other page for a list of parts as well in the meantime.
Ive come up with a big improvement for the corners. Take a 1 x 1 Brick with studs on all sides to fix the triangles. Then stick inverted 1 x 1 cones with bar into the remaining 2 sidestuds. The Cones will connect to the surface 2 x 2 round plates, improving stability bigtime, while also giving you the crucial rounded edges, that are so nessesary for smooth turing. This construction makes the corners very stable.
Realy good Idea.
isn't there only room for 1 brick width? those cones look like 1 brick height (1 brick width + 1x2 plate height) besides wouldn't you only be able to connect 1 since the bar part would go too far, meaning others wouldnt be able to stick in all the way? as well, what would you stick on the bottom of the brick with studs on all sides, since there's one side with an opening? just wondering
@@puzzLEGO Ive sent you 2 messages on rebrickable. At first I made instructions for the old version, since I wanted free instructions for this to be avaible. Then I saw this very video, updated my Studio file to it and was struck by this idea, as I thought about the necessity to make round corners and sent you the second message about it. My first messages on rebrickable contains a link, youll find the updated io-file and the instructions for it there.
@@bimbelimbim4998 oh cool I haven’t checked rebrickable I’ll do that right now
@@puzzLEGO Ive added a picture to my webcloud to showcase the precise positioning of the inverted cones. It needs to be done just right to work.

Its amazing that you got the cube to work so smoothly, great work!

I think it fun to have it in a display collection since it still be solvable.
Wow I Never Thought Someone Bulit A Fully Working Lego Cube Keep Up The Good Work
I fully support this, Lego should have done something like this long long ago but you’ve done it, salutes to you my friend and keep up the good work.

As much as I'd love this and want to see it as a set, Lego's standards for structural stability might be a roadblock for making this a real set.
Yeah sadly they didn’t approve this project :/
So heart warming are people who create things with lego. :) Good work little one o/ pat* pat*
WE NEED A 2X2 CUBE
WOW! I've seen the evolution from the first clunky version and this even looks smooth! Good job 👍
This has great potential. It’s not to big and everyone will love this.
Wow it's really impossible I'm impressed that this works. congratulations.

After 30 seconds I’d give up and re-assemble it.
Now I actually know how to solve a cube. Literally this video is what got me into cubing
Fantastic!
i would buy this
because this is a amazing build
i think it could improve the exterior looks if the circular color plates were replaced with a compbination of 1x1 curved corner tiles and 1x2 plates, only using curves where necessary

3. Beat world record with it?
@@salmon4402 I will bring this and my gan, and hope that the lego one gets approved xD
Really cool idea and great build 😊
Thank you for perfecting my design, I'm not being sarcastic, thank you
This is pretty sick. Really ingenious engineering on it. I doubt it'd pass the Lego Ideas review process because I doubt the way the individual chunks fit together would be considered legal connections but I'd be really interested to see Lego's in-house designers try their hand at designing an official version.
Technically, “illegal” LEGO building techniques are only arrangements that put undue stress or wear on lego parts. These are totally legal, as you’re not bending the pieces themselves to get them to fit together. It’s actually quite common for LEGO sets to have pieces that slide or rub against each other, but are otherwise completely unremovable without disassembly, just like the cube is doing.
I enjoyed the build. The only problem I had with the video was your nails, it kind of bothered me , but , overall , the video was good.
That cube looks nice, btw Im a speed cuber and speed cubers need it to turn very fast and smooth but have a lot of control.
Great job!
Cool techniques! it's better than last one! I wish I have right pieces to build for it, and great design!
Dude can we talk about the nails on him/them?!
Amazing!
Any updates on this? Will you improve it and resubmit? Or make a video talking about what the process was like on Lego ideas? A lot of people voted for this, so it would be nice with a follow-up

I'm I speed cuber and this last bit hurt but still AMAZING video!
is it only me that found its harder to do algerithums slowly than fast
This is amazing, and I hope it becomes official, when it does it will be on my "to purchase" list.
The only thing I was able to notice was at 2:22 when you flip the corner around, the construction could be very slightly improved by a boomerang plate paired with your stud in the corner.
I love it!
Thanks for buildin
You are a genius man!

This is really cool and I have already supported it, but I can't help but notice you are being very, very gentle with it. I would like to see some faster movements to really show off how strong it can be. If becomes a set though, I'll still buy it.
My guess is because it's lego if he moves it too fast or deforms it too much it will fall apart. I wonder how fast you could turn the cube if all the pieces were glued together. That way we could see how much of how slow he turns it is due to trying to hold ot together and how much is due to its shape
