  • NEW PROJECT 1944 Allis Chalmers B w/ Sickle bar mower attachment. I usually find old iron in various states of disrepair, disassembled, non-running, etc. But, this one appears to be complete and rust-free. I just don't know if it runs or not. It has been sitting for many years without use.
This is the first investigation after bringing it home; two flat tires, checking oil, fuel, coolant, magneto ignition, general inspection. Sickle bar mower. Excellent paint job. Using the hand crank to see if the engine is free. Date code on the tires. How to tell if an old battery is 6 volt or 12 volt just by looking at it.

Appearance wise, that “B” is mint! I’d have to say at this point…..Score!!

That's a beauty! I was always intrigued with the little integrated toolbox and flap cover on these AC's. This is a real showroom tractor and that mower...wow! Excellent!!!

My father bought a B in 1972 which we used on our small farm for cutting hay. I overhauled the engine when I was 15 years old. I have since completely rebuilt the entire tractor to like new condition but the engine is still running great since the rebuild nearly 50 years ago.

When done right these old tractors will be around much longer than we will. You must have done a great job on the engine!

Nice AC. The B was the wide front version of the C, both were good little tractors. Your collection of tractors is growing.
You can put a corrugated drain pipe, slit down the middle the full length, to put over the sickle mower to make them more safe when not in use and in the transport position.

Beautiful looking tractor, although that's not Allis Chalmers Orange. More of a reddish color. Still looks great though.

Very nice tractor, can't wait to see it working the sickle bar mower. Also noticed the Cub seems to be smoking a little bit, has it always done that?
