Caruso - Still here .... Happy New Year to all of you!

- For some reason all the Caruso uploads I've made over the years became inaccessible about a month ago. No idea why. But I have reactivated them again today.
Have not uploaded much recently as I pretty much have already uploaded everything Caruso ever recorded.
This recording of "Bella figlia dell'amore" was recorded almost one hundred years ago (25th of January 1917).
A quartet with Amelita Galli-Curci, soprano, Flora Perini, mezzo-soprano, Giuseppe De Luca, baritone. - Hudba
Still all these years, at 105, the voice still makes me cry, a voice of humanity, with superb artistry the greatest of all Tenors and like Chaliapin said the Greatest of ALL singers, makes music so easy the voice is pure Gold from Bottom to Top, as Martinelli famously said I believe to Ms Davenport, Madame you ask was he truly the greatest, if you put my Myself Gigli and Lauri Volpi together we would not make a little Toe on this Great Man, I would like now to beg I say goodbye, he left a Large dinner having shut up this Woman of Stature to Shouts of Bravo and Loud applause, Singers who knew him Singers who heard him from the Previous Century said he was the Greatest, in many Lands from Russia to Argentina nobody could ever doubt that there will never be another Caruso, Ruffo who was a BIG friend of Caruso, said at his Funeral the Greatest of all has left us, I am sad he said with a Crying voice, he was the Supreme Maestro, I will miss him greatly, so also Nellie Melba who was often rude about Caruso, but she said of on hearing of his passing, the Greatest of ALL singers has left us, he now sits at Gods feet with that Beautiful Instrument, I will miss him dearly, she said that crying.
Puccini Cilea Giordano Mascagni Richard Strauss Franchetti and many other Composers Musicians and Singers ALL made similar remarks, there were NO bad things said about this Generous Great Man.
The Recording is proof of that.

The amazing thing is over 100 years after his death people are still talking about Caruso.

Good to see you on Tom! I know there isn't much to do now that you've uploaded everything Caruso ever did, but we can all keep our fingers crossed that in some dusty mansion or private collection, there are a few more test pressings of the great Caruso. I hope to goodness that day will come..... He recorded so much, but for those of us that love him, it just wasn't enough!
