    • @greengringolr
      @greengringolr Před rokem

      To add further the STG-44 used a system called roller delayed blowback, which used a system of rollers and rails to reduce the felt recoil. The modern MP5 also uses this system, as well as a lot of Heckler And Koch designs. You can really see some visual resemblance to the STG-44 in the G3 and MP5. So yes the AK-47 only has a similar silhouette and shares literally nothing mechanically in common with the STG-44, the MP5 does however. Which is actually quite ironic considering it’s the “good guy gun”
      Edit: just found out the roller delayed blowback originally was used in the MG-42. So we have that badass weapon to thank for the MP-5. Two very iconic weapons.

    • @beefyblom
      @beefyblom Před 2 lety +1

      I mean, that's objectively false about the MP40. the MP40 was only issued in large quantities to squad leaders and vehicle crewmen. The average German soldier was equipped with the Kar98k, with all squads either equipped with a single MG34 or MG42 which all squad members were trained to use.
      The Tommy gun was a brilliant firearm, and its relatively low numbers (due to it being a squad leaders' and vehicle crewmans' weapon, similarly to the MP40) was compensated for by American infantry squads being given large numbers of Browning Automatic Rifles and semi-automatic rifles such as the Garand.

      Mhm. Wish CoD would go back to the more simpler times when cutscenes in missions were at a minimum, quick time events didn't exist, and lots of times you can complete an objective or multiple in your own way instead of being forced on a very linear route. Like the final fight against two tigers.. either you could blow up the tracks and watch your squad throw a grenade inside it (very fun to watch but also very dangerous), blow up the fuel tanks to destroy it immidiately (kind of boring but immidiately destroys the threat), or use an 88 (very fun to use but you are exposed while using it, and not to mention they are in fixed positions so the tiger might not be in the line of sight).

      I agree with you but the „Panzerfaust“ is technicly a another wapon, the „Panzerfaust“ can only Shoot once but the „Panzershrek“ can use more than once. (Sorry my english is Not good, but i hope you understand me😅)

    When I was doing security contracting in Africa I used a mp-40 until I got my hands on an AK. But I loved that Mp-40. Also I bought a Arisaka and that rifle is amazing.

    fun fact by ww2 the m1903 springfield had pretty much been phased out in favor of the m-1 garand introduced in 1936, the marine corps units were the only ones using springfields, other than snipers when the us entered ww2 there were not enough garands at the time
