Rosalie is one of the best characters in the series.
They all are.
Her radar’s up!
“Fuckin nosey”
@@SopranosBlueprint loved that scene
Me, too! And I felt badly for Ro when Carmela called her back just a coupla three minutes later and “cancelled” Thanksgiving.
The aprile family peaked when jackie jr pissed his car seat at that heist on the Rutgers campus.. hehehehehe
And then he does such a great job taking a leadership role and taking charge of the car when they stuck up the card game 🤨😜
@@SopranosBlueprint he's the hair apparent.... Hehehe
When Tony said he was a better father to Jackie Jr., I think he meant as far as holding him accountable for his actions. There was never a question of whether Jackie Sr. loved his son, it was just that he and Roe spoiled him and never disciplined him. Roe even backs this up when she walk talking to Carmela when Tony was in the hospital and AJ wasn’t helping out.
I also think it's just copium from Tony. None of these guys are good influences on their younger generation. If any of the kids turn out well-adjusted, it's by fluke.
True, but we don’t really have any concrete examples of Jackie Jr NOT being held accountable by his father…it wasn’t until after Jackie Sr died that Jackie Jr. started getting involved and into real trouble. I think it was more like Tony trying to make himself feel better due to his own feeling of failure from Jackie Jr. dying so young.
@@osman732very true.
Absolutely. Tony and Carm also liked to bring that idea up when one of the kids was doing really well/really poorly (in terms of who was “to blame”).
@@osman732 I agree 100%. Tony did a terrible job with Jackie. His whole idea of being a better father was to beat the shit out of him in a strip club bathroom. If you think about it, though, that’s what he always wanted to do to AJ.
I love how you have a different perspective of the sopranos. Not just like everybody on YT. Love your channel keep going.
Thank you so very much. That means a lot 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 plenty more to come!
Nice, I alway loved any scene with the Apriles 🤓
Thank you! Same here - one hell of a family!
It is interesting to hear the nature vs nurture topic brought up. The point was very well made in reviewing this family. You could easily apply this topic to all the characters in the Sopranos.
Absolutely! We really see a little bit of everything here, and like Barbara, we don’t get much of a glimpse into the lives of Kelli, Richie Jr, and even Jackie Aprile Sr. given the limited amount of time we saw him. Sometimes I wish we could’ve seen a bit more of the Aprile household dynamics while Jackie was still alive, but I guess that’s what we have our imagination for! 😊 lol
I have the joy of having a new roommate who's never seen the series, so rewatching it bit by bit with him is just so much fun. The craziest part is 2 decades later there is still new topics you find to discuss. Such a deep show full of 'holy cows' and 'what ifs'
Oh wow, that must be a hell of a time rewatching as he watches for the first time!!! It’s the gift that keeps on giving, with every rewatch of an episode.
Jackies "Chris and me are a ssociates" had the same childlike ignorance of how things work as Matt Drakewaters dumbass " You gotta hide me, I'm with you now!"
Yesss 😂😂😂 also, just like Jackie calls Tony “T” when first greeting him in S2,E12, Matty B does the exact same thing with Tony - TWICE - including right before he was shot!
I see Jackie as an allegory for 90's America: colorful, cheerful, peaceful and very very profitable. Notice when he was alive the guys weren't conspiring against each other, the colours of the show were brighter and and the future was promising. But his death kickstarted a dark age for the family (just like 9/11 did to America)
Yes, that’s a great observation. It was almost like how Tony “came too late for that” but Jackie got in right before “the end.”
Janice shooting Richie was the most surprising moment of the show for me.
I thought so too. Mainly because he wasn't in the mood.
“I’m in no mood for your….💥💥💥”
She usually remembers to take out the clip
Someone had to stop him he was a little monster
Excellent content. And that voice you got. 😎
Thanks so much for your comment! I appreciate your support! ☺️😊
Very cool video.I always appreciate perspective break downs
Thank you!! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!!
I enjoy the Michael K Williams scene, The Wire was like a game of chess too
One of the more interesting "what-ifs" of having Jackie Sr survive as long-term boss is how he would've handled Richie's re-entry. Richie overflows with resentment and rage, ready to snap on anyone who'd restrain him from taking anything he felt entitled to. How would the famously reasonable and level-headed Jackie Sr have reacted to Beansie's injuries, or unauthorised coke dealing? And Richie would've perceived any ruling that even partially disadvantaged him to be an outrageous blood betrayal by his ungrateful younger brother. When you look at their personalities, it feels like an Aprile civil war would have been inevitable.
That’s an interesting question! We know certain members of the Soprano family were more than willing to take out a blood relative, so who’s to say Richie Aprile wouldn’t go that far with his own flesh and blood? I can imagine him getting a similar scolding re: Beansie & Davey Scatino that he got from Tony, but I also wonder what Jackie Sr. would’ve done had he heard Richie was gonna make a move on Tony (Tony of course wouldn’t be boss then at that moment, but I could see Tony and Richie butting heads either way, even if Tony remained a capo).
Another big what-if is Jackie Jr’s fate…who knows what kinda trouble he would’ve gotten in, but I don’t think he would’ve tried to knock up the card game if it was something run by guys who reported directly to his fawtha.
He would not have robbed the card game in that case though.
Ritchie would have tried to take out his brother with June's blessing. The same way June and Tony's mom tried to take out Tony.
ANY mob family is willing to take out their blood if they feel the "Have to"@@SopranosBlueprint
I really love Jackie Aprile Sr. His demeanor and vibes are so cool and compelling. I think it would be awesome if they made a Sopranos prequel all about Jackie's rise to power in the mob. Tony could assume the Silvio role in the series.
I was gonna say, you better like him given you share a name 😉 I really liked him, too. Would’ve been interesting to learn more about that time period that you mention and more of his origin story/rise to power.
Jackie sr seems like he was. GOOD guy.. but he turned an eye to alot of things.. including money.. looks like Tony leaned on his uncle as an old timer for leverage and he leaned on Jackie Sr's good-natured Good hearted Friendship .. Tony was. A fat cat . Greedy..
Kelly and Jackie were twins. We needed more of her.
Would’ve loved to see more of her!
@@SopranosBlueprint for sure

Awesome!! Welcome aboard and thank you for your comment! ♥️
Another great topic and analysis. You don’t have all the flashy production that some other content creators have, but you’re proving that none of that is necessary when you’ve got quality writing.
Thank you - I really appreciate your comment! And, for what it’s worth, I try to improve on the production aspect with each new video, so stay tuned. 😊 Again, I really appreciate your comment 🙏🏼
@@SopranosBlueprint I hope that didn’t come off sounding like a back handed compliment. I just meant some channels put in a lot of time and money with the editing and visual effects without having actual quality content like you do.

I'm actually from the capital of Canada! I can't believe Jackie Jr. knew the answer to that

Insightful and entertaining, as usual. Love your voice. Jersey or Philly? Can't quite pinpoint it. Your channel is gonna be big. You have a way with criminal psychology that people usually have to go to college for. Keep exposing the life for all the lay people.
Great video, what an interesting and varied family. Jackie Junior is a bit of a Tragedy, for reals

Excellent analysis. However you failed to mention the penguin exhibit. 😉
Meadow was nieve at the start about Jackie Jr death. But in the later series I think she somewhat knew or wisened up to the idea that he fucked up with the family and had to be taken out.
Yeah, it’s interesting how she weaved back and forth and started very cynically w/ Tony re: the Italian-American stuff (“Like Mario Cuomo?”) to the very last episode where she’s the one talking about the federal government’s oppression of Italians.
My favorite of the family is Kelli. I like her sarcastic attitude.
Actually, I think that Ritchie was a yoga devotee and used it in the same way that Tony used therapy. Therapy ironically made Tony a better manipulator and thug. Ritchie appeared to be a force of nature for his diminutive size (owed in some part to his physicality and his presence which was both menacing and often zen-like). One of the undercurrents of the Sopranos is that everything and everyone can be corrupted.
Without the Apriles this video is a zero with shoes.
Its got tons of moxie for its size.
Is everyone ignoring the fact that Adriana and Jackie Jr were cousins yet when Jackie was sitting with Ralph having dinner he was giving Adriana the look when Ralph said “eh, eh, eh!” Meaning that Adriana was the girlfriend of Chris who was a now made member with the Soprano crew. People skip over that part.
Jackie Jr was also off’ed by his own cousin which is even more screwed up.
Interesting question because I think a lot of the cousin stuff we hear is never really fully flushed out - Adriana talking to Agent Sanseverino about it in S5 is really the close we come to that - so that’s actually a great idea for a future video - diving more into the aunt/uncle/cousin stuff for all of the families (Soprano, Aprile, Blundetto, Moltisanti, etc.)
Ya, Tony took out his own cousin Tony B, so what?
Chris's mom is a Blundetto, Tony S took him out too.
@@robertlee4172Well, Tony S ain't have a better choice with Tony B.
@@robertlee4172 yeah you didn’t need to chime in with that ignorant comment. I was merely pointing out the fact that the show was a lot more twisted than we originally thought now that we reflect back on everything.
@@thepalatrpro
Wha? You gonna go cry now?
Who is the golfer that Matush mistakes for Jackie Aprile???
I’ve always assumed he was referring to Jack Nicklaus.
Isn’t Adrianna a niece to Jackie and Richie ?
Was Ro at Richie and Janice's engagement party? I don't remember.
Yes, Ro was there. She was in the group listening when Richie and Janice were giving their little speeches.
Great video, also I find it so interesting how Adrianna, Liz, and Vito are all cousins of the Apriles
How about them Blundettos?
Pat, Quintana, Tony, Joanne, related to Tony S, Chris, Livia, Kelly, the twins
Thanks! 😃😃 And yes, you’re spot on! Sounds like a great topic to include in my next video re: the Aprile family tree 😎
Rocko Demayo later died of Alzheimer's
DeMeo. Sheesh
Terrible accident that kid had…
@@SopranosBlueprint yeah
Rose had Tony and AJ killed in front of Carmella at the restaurant after she finds out Tony had her son killed.
She was like one of them.
Now, it's like she's one of them.
You forgot about Adriana she’s Richie niece
I’m doing a separate video on all of the “cousins/uncles/etc” under these family trees (Soprano, Aprile, Blundetto, etc.) that’s coming soon 😃 stay tuned!
The penguin exhibit 🐧
That Ritchie so ungrateful not everyone gets soft drink of choice at the pizza parlor.
Better than getting your ass capped at the local Taco Bell.
You forgot Adrianna and her mom
Were they REALLY cousins, though? I kept it to strictly Aprile last names because it seemed unclear in some cases whether they were really related or just “Uncle Richie” like how Tony was “Uncle Tony” to Christopher (same thing with the Leotardo/Spatafore story). But good point.
Wouldn't the fight with Rocco Demeo have caused problems with the Demeo glorified crew?
Im more confussed than before because i thought both Vito and Adianna were both in that family.
Rosalie Aprile was much better off without Ralph. Richie really represented the Aprile family well. He had "the jacket", the Manson Lamps, and he put up with Janice until she killed him. I love when Meadow poured herself a little vodka and put Kelly Aprile in her place.
Its the jaaackeeet
That you took off Rocco DiMeo….c*cksucker had the toughest reputation in Essex County, but he never came back after you got thru w/ him.
@@SopranosBlueprint he later died of alzheimers
Kelly, Rick, and Barb are the lucky ones. By choice have kept their distance.
Louise Blundetto, who lives with uncle Pat, also seemingly avoided the mob life.
But the convoluted mix of mobster family members marrying each other, is almost incestuous.
At what point would it be considered "inbreeding". Vito did suggest he and Adrianna almost hooking up.
Here's the thing about the mafia, in real life, they actually marry into each others family, to strengthen their ties to one another.

Something tells me it was when Richie left a cage open at Turtleback Zoo…
@SopranosBlueprint can you imagine that? Richie leaves a cage open at turtleback zoo?
They musta had free tokens at the tunnel.

You didn’t mention Adriana
They weren’t married 😃 kept it only to wives in this one.
Omg, I love you. Why can't more women be like you..!
Marry me..! lol.. 😉 ❤
Haha ♥️☺️😎 appreciate the love!
When Janice quietly walks off after Jackie hit her he should of known RIGHT THEN "Uh oh this is not good" but he underestimated her like most men that get killed by their wives. Lol here is a solution hows bout NOT hitting your wife and just be a good husband? Yeah?
rose lost some points letting ralphie hit i know he a cash cow but can’t go from the boss to that goofy
You know who Jackie’s fawtha was right.
The golfer? U.S. Open?
Jackie Sr was a great boss way better than Tony more level, headed, and did not want his son to follow in his footsteps, but the kid wouldn't want listen
Adrianna? Vito?
I limited this one to people with the Aprile name - mainly because the whole cousin/uncle thing isn’t fully and completely clear - in terms of whether they’re “cousins” or actual blood cousins/relatives. I’m going to do a future video that dives more into this very topic, though, so stay tuned 👍

I'm sorry, this is like the 5th video I've tried to watch of yours. This is going to sound harsh but these have to be the blandest, most boring and uninformative videos on the Sopranos I've come across. Somehow you make the show seem as interesting as a class on business studies from my monotoned and uninterested college teacher.
It's a style.
Like Hitchcock. "Go-o-o-d e-e-e-e-vening..."
It is so off putting to hear a woman using profanity.
Your audio clips and the editing is pretty bad.
Could be intentional due to her using actual tv clips
I use screen record from my laptop for grabbing the scenes. This is all a self-taught hobby, so, needless to say, I can always make improvements.
