  • My Sun Joe pressure washer is leaking on the bottom and doesn't build up enough pressure to shut off the motor. It still works though.

I have same model, water is gushing out from the bottom side even when pump is not running. I’m thinking that left over water in the pump froze and expanded causing this part to break apart.
Going to disassemble this weekend to take a closer look. Thanks for the video! Otherwise if I can’t repair I may just scrap it. These things are a hunk of junk and the newer power washers are compact and serviceable.

Thanks for this, I’m thinking of taking mine apart so it’s smaller and I can make a wall mounted setup for washing my cars. Gonna add a different reel and power wash gun

Awesome video, helped me out a lot, thanks
Luckily mine is still working fine after 3 years. I'm changing the hose to a longer/better one & needed to remove the old one.

Which hose did you end up getting? Can’t seem to find one with the right fittings

@@acespades2171 the connection on the pressure washer itself is M22-15. I used a M22-15 to M22-14 adapter > M22-14 to 3/8" quick disconnect > 3/8" quick disconnect to a Uberflex 1/4" x 50' hose. Most hoses out there are M22-14. This prevents me from be able to use the integrated spool, but the Uber flex is such a good hose that I don't care. With the quick disconnect I can remove it & easily wrap it.
If you just want to extend the original hose all you'd need is a M22-15 to M22-14 adapter at the end of the hose

@@chrisz5zdo you happen to have a link to these? I am struggling to piece these together

@@chrisz5z Thanks for the info. I have a leaking hose (several small holes in the hose itself) so I'm looking to replace it. Is the connection from the hose to the machine easy to take off and replace? Looks like it has some kind of metal clip. Doesn't really show the detail in this video. Don't want to ruin my machine - if it's too difficult I suppose I can just patch the existing hose.

What is the name of the part that is leaking not the prong the housing

My guessing: hi pressure shutoff valve. Similar to the ones used in air compressor when the air pressure reaches 120psi for example. Cutoff off the power to the electric motor.

I have the "follow-me" SPX3200 doing the same thing. I figured maybe it froze with water still inside. I'm under the impression these units aren't serviceable. Were you able to get this back up and running?

I junked it and bought a Swipesmith 3000 on Amazon. Only used it once so far, so not sure how good it will do. Thanks for watching and hope the video helped you.

@@TinkeringJohn I've been hemming and hawing over trying to fix it or toss it. I bought a replacement but I just feel bad wasting it if it can be fixed...so many things are disposable these days.

@@turbocharged9589 I was going to fix mine by making a new part, but I couldn't get the broken piece out. Some things aren't worth the time and energy to fix. I try to fix anything I have or at least take it apart to see how it works. You can't hurt it if it's already broken.

@@turbocharged9589man, me and you are the same. I borrowed my moms only to find that the piece that couples the two hoses together was snapped in the middle. So now I’ve been researching for 30 hrs straight on how to replace the hose.

Part # for the broken piece?

Hi, and thanks for commenting. I don't know if you can buy parts for the pump unit. I couldn't get the broken piece out anyways. I could have made one if I couldn't buy one.

I have same issue with my washer. I will never buy Sunjoe pressure washer again. Waste money.
