ELECTIONS 2024 | The role of political parties' youth structures

- South Africa's youth, a key voting constituency in this month's elections, are generally not optimistic about the future of their country. That's according to the Ichikowitz Family Foundation's survey. The two biggest triggers for South African youth are corruption and the difficulty in finding a job. However, the youth still believe in democracy.
In fact, nearly half of them say they are going to vote on May 29.
As we continue to track young people's election participation, our focus today is on the role of political parties' youth structures in ensuring young people's voices are represented in our democracy.
Joining us in the studio is the ANC Youth League's Secretary-General Mntuwoxolo Ngudle, DA Students Organisation Leader Liam Jacobs and EFF National Convener of Youth and Students Mobilisation Committee Mafia Fane.

The most important thing is that South Africa must win on the 29th, the power competition internally is okay but the country must be led by people who understand what it takes to successfully lead a sovereignty. That's what we as voters must be looking for leading to the 29th.
I think the law should look into changing the law concerning those who have not register for these upcoming elections to be removed on the lists and not be automatically counted into parties they voted for before, so that the results are true and fair

The ANC is the only party with plans .These plans are supported by strategy and tactics. Even strategy and tactics have its challenges and drawbacks in that matter most of them deriving from the legacy of apartheid. For all these so-called opposition parties, things are easily said than done. The ANC is on the right track. I would have wished that in this interview the youths representing the DA and EFF could take stalk of the Border Management Authority and 400 job opportunist to the Youth; notwithstanding the fact this figure of 400 is meagre but is a direction to somewhere. There are many more areas in which the ANC has ventured to improve the lives of our people. The denial of the achievements of the ANC by all these other directless parties will be dealt a resounding blow on 28 May. Viva ANC viva! Forward to outright and decisive victory of the ANC forward!
