Punch Brothers. Also a student of Edgar Meyer's.

You can really hear Edgar’s influence.
Great video! I’d never seen Paul play bass like that. It is inspirational.
One of the best young bassists I have ever heard! The perfect pitch when modulating really impressed me, as did the rest of the musicians. Remarkable performance by all!
The groove Brittany and Paul establish during "Johnson Boys" is one of the best pieces of old-time music I've ever heard. I've watched this video many, many times and get goose bumps at 4:56--every time. And not to take anything away from the playing of Jordan and Dominick--they're all great!
Could'nt agree more. It's one of those moments when actual magic happens and one realizes that there may be hope for mankind after all.
Feel it in me bones.
I have never seen a bass played like this before.........Astounding!! Well played Paul!
Fantastic music. With a dynamo like Paul all of them are at their best.
Great music by great musicians. Wish I would of seen them while they were toghter.they would of been a show to always remember.

Great music on a Saturday night!

Holy holy holy CRAP... that was so good!
Wow! What an arrangement. Love hearing the bass on melody, and such a groovin' one, too. Also love whatever harmony is happening between the bass and fiddle at the very end.
first time I have heard the ornamentation played by the bass
Lovely picking on that mando.

That first tune is a Marcus Martin tune!!! Can't remember the name of it...
Slightly before minute 4:00 to minute 5:20....isn't that the tune "Roscoe" ? also played here: czcams.com/video/QAqe9iRjmbc/video.html
What do you call this style of music?
lowandlazy57 fiddle music/old-time music/bluegrass but they also have their own style, mixing elements from various kinds of (swedisch) folk, classic music and jazz.
Very, very, very good !
Bluegrass lacks storytelling. Let's change that.
Mark, I'm not sure I understand your comment. This is an instrumental medley and I wouldn't call it bluegrass at all. These tunes are derived from Irish fiddling. If you want to hear some great storytelling, check of Tim O'Brien and the many projects he's produced over the years. He's an excellent composer, player and storyteller.

This is Trad/Old Time.
