  • Our fifth episode of Ukraine Through the Eyes of Reporters features Wolfgang Schwan, a photographer who’s been in Ukraine for a year now, working for the Anadolu and Wired agency. In this interview, he shares his thoughts on the role of photography in the time of war, reflects on the experience of creating one of the first viral photos depicting a Russian missile attack on civilians as well as discusses how the Russian propaganda machines uses real photos to create disinformation.
    Ukraine Through the Eyes of Reporters is a special series aimed at highlighting the work of international journalists in covering the Russian war against Ukraine and understanding how they approach their important role.

      Putin has turned out to be a neo-stalinst in the worst sense.
      Hitler, Stalin and now Putin share a lot in their atrocities.
      What Putin doesn't tell people is that Stalin was a war criminal.
      With the support of Hitler Stalin occupied on 17th of September 1939 Western Ukraine, Western Belarus and Poland. Putin has developed Russia into a full-fledged, personal autocracy. Through his adoption of imperial and nationalist ideology, his ruthless crackdown on civil society and any form of dissent, and his call for arms from almost the entire country, Putin has reintroduced almost all the classic elements of Stalinist totalitarianism, from the cult of personality to the cult of the heroic death.
