ECHO FALLS AND ECHO LAKE TRAIL | Squamish, British Columbia

Echo Falls and Lake are located in Squamish, British Columbia which is an hour drive from Vancouver. It offers amazing views of Echo Falls through several access spots with beautiful rock formations and refreshing pools. Echo Lake is an excellent spot to take a swim and enjoy close views of Mt. Lapworth.
This hike involves crossing the Squamish River to reach the trailhead. Several companies offer canoe, kayak, or boat rentals from Spit Access Road. We hired a water taxi through Squamish Watersports (www.squamishwatersports.com/b...) which costs roughly $55 roundtrip. Boat ride takes around 20 minutes and is in itself very scenic as it offers panoramic views of the Squamish River, Howe Sound and the Garibaldi range. Keep an eye of the seals playing on the logs!
Trailhead starts at the north of the river bank marked by pink ribbons. Starting August 2020, there is a new descent trail which made this hike a loop. We took the recommended ascent trail via Monmouth Creek. This is very steep and involves some scrambling but scenic as it takes you through several pools and access points to Echo Falls.

What a great trail and I love a waterfall so that was a great place to start. A real refreshing place to cool off and well needed after that climb up those rocks, looked real sketchy getting up there. I think I would have been happy at the waterfall and Echo Lake, cheers Alan
