    The best tutorial I've seen for this ring. You remind me of my father-in-law. He was a Carpenter. He helped us add to our home. He measured more than twice. 😂 He taught me how to make a stud plum. Great job.

    Thank you for this awesome video! Your teaching style is calm and you are awesome to follow along to.....BUT......I couldn't help myself and had to try a smaller cab. I used an 8x10mm cab and then did a smaller 8x6 opal. I used smaller wire but both rings were very sturdy. That being said they were a royal pain to make due to the tiny cab size so I am sure that an 8x12 or a 10x12 will be the smallest I would ever do again but I find a 10x14mm to be a perfect ladies ring. Getting ready to watch h the rest of your videos. I just wanted to hop back on this one and say a big Thanks😊

      Thats cool, I tried using small stones before, (outcome not good), the smallest successful stone Ive wrapped was a 13x18 cab, anything smaller I will make the ring separate and set the stone in a sew-on rhinestone settings either oval or octagon then set it into the ring frame held in with half round wire, looks very nice and your not limited to just using cabs.

    Yes small cabs are a challenge but using 22 gage wire I've done many rings of this style with 8 X 12 mm cabs and 1 with a 6 X 8 mm cab.

    Fantastic tutorial video. I am just getting started back with wire wrapping after having had a stroke 3 months ago. I haven't really done more than 3 rings ever and will definitely try doing one like this. Hopefully I will have it turn out nice and will do more. Thanks for sharing and teaching. Great close ups so we can see clearly each part of the process. Have a nice day.

My videos are part of your tools. Practice with the simple projects such as chain making to hone in on your bending skills. Yes, you have skills!! Thank you for watching my videos!

      @@wireartjewelry9045 may I suggest you put "pharoahs ring tutorial" in your video title? you would get a lot more views because people are always looking for this and that's what they would be wording it as on search. as of now the way the title is you will be pushed to the bottom of search's in the algorithm because there are countless other cabochone rings but not the classic one like this. 😁

    The use of the wires above and below the stone are reversed from what I've seen and used for years, but I think I like it. I feel like it gives a stronger grip on the stone, and more consistency of the length of the locking wires, though this method is a little trickier.

    Hello could you use a faceted stone with these instructions.

    • @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen
      @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen Před 7 měsíci

      I have made these rings using faceted vintage glass rhinestones set in a sew-on rhinestone setting, I made the ring first, and set the stone in the setting and place the set stone into the frame of the ring then held in using 21 gauge half round wire, this technic is great cause you arent limited to only cabs.

  • @conchitamoyet2933
    @conchitamoyet2933 Před 2 lety +1

    Could you use this to wire wrap a bigger faceted stone so it doesn’t come out?

    • @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen
      @JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen Před 7 měsíci

      for large faceted stones, you would need to get rose cut, or faceted top flat back stones, so any faceted stone say 18mmx13mm and larger make sure its a rose cut flat back.

    How do you get your wire so straight? I know how to smooth wire, but getting the curve out that happens from being on a spool seems impossible to me. Is there a secret to it?

    • @wireartjewelry9045
      @wireartjewelry9045  Před 11 měsíci

      I just work with it till I'm happy with the straightness. I do roll it lightly on the outside curve with a socket sometimes. I really don't do anything special. Thanks
