1 piece of 18 gauge round dead soft copper wire, 17 inches long
1 marquise shaped cabochon, mine is a peach moonstone, about 7-8mm tall

I totally love how you explain step by step. It's easy to see what your doing also, I watched other people's videos but. They were always wrapping to fast without the wire being in video frame a lot of the time 😢😊
Love this! I wonder if you would consider doing a video on just the last steps of wire wraps -- after the cage is built, just showing options for different swirls and embellishments, especially simpler ones. I really get in a rut when it comes to finishing things off.

I really love this design and I’m definitely going to give it a try. I also have a supply of larger gauge half-round wire that I want to experiment with - I’m thinking the flat side of the wire would grip the stone a little more firmly than round.

I ordered something like a thimble for sewing to protect your finger tip but it was made of cloth instead of metal. That might be useful when pressing on a pointy stone as well.

Can you do this design with a 3 point equilateral triangle cab with point at top? I love the simplicity of design and so elegant too. Thanks
I am really not sure, you might try wrapping the wire around both bottom points and then up at the top to trap a triangle, but I haven't attempted
