Great Sushi Dai restaurant that we dined at in 2014, back in the old Tsukiji market! We really liked the sushi and the way the craftsmen communicate with their clients! At the end of lunch, one of the sushi masters gave me and my colleague mugs from which we drank tea. As I understand it, the Sushi Dai restaurant thus presented us with a souvenir for winning the World Karate Championship, which we won in 2012/2013 in Tokyo and Yokohama. The Japanese know how to do something nice in a beautiful style! In the video, I recognized my master of sushi and will definitely visit him again, Osu!
It's ridiculous to have to wait such a long time. This place is small, probably around 10 seats or so. Those brave people at the back of this line can expect to wait a few hours before getting to taste their sushi. For this reason, I feel that Daiwa Sushi is a much better choice. Located in another building, it is also double the size of Sushi Dai so the line moves much faster. And the quality is also top knotch.
This place has gone downhill with all the tourists. The first time I’ve been there was about 20 years ago. It might be good for sushi beginners but queuing up for hours? Please.
Jiro is over $300 USD per person. That's 5 to 6 times the price of Sushi Dai, but is it 5 to 6 times better? I don't think so. Value for the money is just as important.

Two reasons worth the long wait: 1-The food. 2-That beautiful woman chef. Not necessarily in this particular order.
Looks really good but this isn't the best sushi. Never been to this place but this is the best sushi in Japan Sukiyabashi Jiro
