    Question about resetting the light. Can this be done through Cummins insite? If so what’s the process of resetting the CEL so the ECM reads the engine is running good.

      Cummins Insite the best.👌 I do not have the Laptop in front of me right now. But you can clear out the inactive code at the bottom of the page. Most of the time it will walk you through it

    Very informative vid. My question... is necessary to maintenance the cooler having a partial delete?

    • @dairleautoclassicrestorati6892
      @dairleautoclassicrestorati6892  Před 8 měsíci

      Good question,
      If I'm not mistaken. A EGR delete cuts off exhaust flow going through a EGR Cooler. It will prevent the EGR Cooler from functioning.

    At what mileage is it recommended to change the egr cooler ??

    • @dairleautoclassicrestorati6892
      @dairleautoclassicrestorati6892  Před 2 měsíci +1

      It really depends on the uses of the Vehicle. I have seen egr coolers lasting pass 280 miles and still running strong.

    My 2015 international durastar 4300 was running great until I changed the oil and check engine light just came on. Dealer says my egr needs to be replaced at a cost of $2300. It has 259k and looks like it's been replaced before because the current egr is green. Any thoughts?

    • @dairleautoclassicrestorati6892
      @dairleautoclassicrestorati6892  Před 2 lety

      With 259k it is very possible that the new one will be third one. I have found half the time when it seem that egr need replacing. The egr base needs cleaning. The ports seem to get stopped up.

    How long can you drive with a bad egr valve before you loss power?

    If the EGR cooler is plugged up. Can you still just clean it out by soaking multiple times?

    • @dairleautoclassicrestorati6892
      @dairleautoclassicrestorati6892  Před 2 lety +1

      See my video on "How To Clean EGR Cooler On 6.7 Cummins" It will show you step by step on that procedure. It has worked for me. Once you place the EGR Cooler back on after cleaning. Drive the vehicle on a Interstate at least 50-55 mph for at least 15-20 miles. That way the vehicle can regen itself without you using a Laptop.

      That is a expensive call to make. Have someone connect a Cummins Insight to your ECM to make sure what your vehicle need. Thanks
