I remember an interview on BET years ago when the interviewer asked Denzel Washington why he picked Pauletta as his wife. Almost as to say, why would he pick somebody that is not Beautiful by Hollywood's standards. And Denzel replied in a forceful yet classy way. He basically said that a lot of Hollywood actors like to go for nearly white or light skinned women as a standard of absolute beauty, but he preferred women of color and that is who his wife is. He mentioned that he was blessed to have her because she was an accomplished piano savant and came from a very good family. The interviewer felt so ashamed by asking. His face was priceless. That is when Denzel earned all of my respect.

I know many men who practiced the same behavior when they were getting into the working world or starting in their profession and they're nothing like that person they were , now.
