Republican Presidents gave us Supreme Court Justices who used their conservative majority to declare that "unlimited spending on campaigns was not unconstitutional". I'm only surprised that AIPAC didn't fund a dark money PAC to hide the source of their donations - because those same Supreme Court Justices said that making enormous political donations anonymously is also "legal" now.
...and speaking of Republicans, if anyone is offended by the Hillary Clinton reference in the original comment, her first job in politics was in Barry Goldwater's Presidential campaign of 1964. Goldwater was always, very clearly a conservative on all issues except Abortion. Goldwater's politics would have been very clear to Hillary who was fresh out of Law School when she worked for Goldwater. Hillary claiming that she is a Democrat is much the same as when Fox News calls all the other corporate owned networks "liberal media".

If Jamal Bowman looses in the primary election, he should run as an independent. It is unbelievable and should be unacceptable that the Israeli interest group has so much influence and power on the U.S. political system.

@@q2breath at least this one was not referenced. It is you as the reader that assigns the religious connotations to the quote. Just because “you” know who originally made the quote was a well renowned person, should not add or subtract from the value, or lack there of, of the quote.
The quote either speaks to one or it does not, and the “ do upon/ unto others as you wish others to do upon/u to you” hits home, at least to me. Sure the word “upon/unto” is antiquated , replaced it with the word “treat”, or any other word you believe is appropriate.

My mother, father and sister were put on the government watch list in 1949, and never were dropped. I was place on the list at birth, and am still under the evil eye. I;ve met a lot of older watch list people at our local food shares. You are never dropped. I was a three campus coordinator for Tom Hayden in 72 when he met Jane Fonda, and we were doing the Indo-China information project, marches, demonstrations and press conferences. Later i would comingle with the Plow-shears Spock Barragan, and also Pete Seeger. So maybe Southerland was dropped, I highly doubt it. We had bugs in our phone mouth pieces from 49 through 63 when Ma Bell technology allowed an invisible bug. One time while touring an underground government building, under PSU, I saw the 100 plus stalls where human listener's listened in. Of over a dozen government contracts I got for the disabled work force I created, this was the only one that did not give me a call back. No problem with the court house, the emigration (Custom's Building) building or other GSA maintained building, just the spy cave.

That was a horrible quib on Tommy Douglas, In a national vote he was crowned the greatest Canadian to ever live. Please look him up he did much more than introduce our healthcare system. The entire time he was in office our federal law enforcement agency RCMP kept an arrest warrant for his permanent detention on file. He was the last, perhaps only, decent human being to hold office in Canada.

If you look at 1991-2005 or so, it was typically a 10:1 Palestinian to Israeli death toll when Israel would retaliate against rocket attacks. Based on that, as soon as I learned the toll from Oct 7th, I predicted 10k, but estimated that we'd see at least 50-100k when famine and disease were factored in. This is the worse US foreign policy that I've witnessed in my lifetime.
