  • Boeing has violated a settlement that allowed the company to avoid criminal prosecution after two deadly crashes involving its 737 MAX aircraft, the Justice Department told a federal judge on Tuesday.
It is now up to the Justice Department to decide whether to file charges against the aircraft maker amid increasing scrutiny over the safety of its planes. Prosecutors will tell the court no later than July 7 how they plan to proceed, the Justice Department said.
Boeing reached a $2.5 billion settlement with the Justice Department in January 2021 to avoid prosecution on a single charge of fraud - misleading regulators who approved the 737 MAX. Boeing blamed the deception on two relatively low-level employees.

Deferred prosecution shouldn't have been given in the first place to Boeing Executives.

Luckily, most travel sites added the option to avoid the 737MAX when shopping for flights.

Corrupt Injustice dept didn't prosecute GM for their defective cars that killed . Nor Enterprise car rental for renting them , when they knew they were .

Good thing the Former AUSA out of Texas that brokered the deal for boing is now working for the same lawfirm that is defending boing. No wrong doing or negligence found. Just like cops. We investigated ourselves and found no wrong doing.

They already have oversight.. SACO and BASOO. If they get their ODA rescinded and have everything approved thru the FAA, good luck getting any new aircraft out this decade or possibly any repair approvals. Maybe this is the path forward until Boeing gets their stuff straight.

Go back to making the entire plane in the USA. Everyone works for Boeing, no outside or foreign contractors.

Even I like to see Boeing succeed. I'm scared if they're getting bankrupt and screw those people who wants a whistle blower to lie during the drama.
