For all the people taking shots, they were cracking jokes to calm themselves down, as they're MASSIVE fans, and the rest of the speech showed heaps of respect. Freddie probably would've laughed his arse off at Taylor Hawkins' ironic Hot Space quip.

imagine being a kid seeing your idols for your first concert, growing up, following your dreams of music and then you induct your favorite band, your idols, fucking legends into the rock and roll hall of fame. way back in 2001 but i'm still so damn happy for taylor and dave. they fuckin deserve it.

And the reason why it looked like they didn’t want to induct Queen is because, Hawkings is a big fan of Queen, and he could have been crying by just inducting his favorite band to the R&R Hall Of Fame

A loveable big kid with imo ADHD- couldn't sit still, feet on the furniture during interviews, chomping gum, grinning, checking his phone, hands in his hair, moving and fidgeting.. and the sneakers.. Totally Dave's sidekick - the heartbeat of the Foos.... God we loved him.
Emily - I so agree with you. I've felt for sometime Dave was trying to keep Taylor safe. Now that Taylor is gone, I worry that Dave feels he let down Taylor and his family.

Growing up never ever would have suspected he would be the most legendary and irreplaceable vocalist of all time, Queens legacy will forever live on and for generations they will be known as the legends of rock n roll

Queen have no limits, they can nail absolutely every genre of music and make it sound out of this world. These guys are pure geniuses and real virtuoso musicians and are walking on higher ground. GODS really.
Can you believe this is the same band that came up with Crazy Little Thing Called Love? Backchat? Another Bites the Dust? Bring back that Leeroy Brown? Holy F$&$& no other band in history has been able to do that and none will be able to either. They are greatest band of all time! Period!

Re: Queen at Live Aid- no lights, no sound check, no frills...but their roadies DID change the soundboard before they went on, so the were louder than any other band that day.

In August 2000 he collapsed and nearly died after taking an overdose of drugs, which ironically turned out to be prescription painkillers (Vicodin?). He was 29 at the time. He seems to have a tremendous will power. That he's still with FF for almost 20 years, is more than what some people can achieve under ordinary circumstances. After doing a few hundred shows (in about 16 mths) with A.Morisette - he wanted to be a member of a Rock Band - & Dave Grohl was already pretty wealthy after Nirvana "died" - so these were extraordinary times for all these young people involved (see Back & Forth Rockumentary) - Imo, FF have, & are, writing Rock music/songs with strong melodies - They are in a league of their own.

I watch/listen to this with heartfelt angst. I guess because I'm used to audiences falling apart with adulation when the subject is QUEEN. Sadly, it doesn't happen here but perhaps it's because, their absence makes us seriously-loving Queen fans overcome mournful thoughts - (yelling and screaming adoration is hard to simultaneously effect). Tears here as I write this in 2024. Happily, these two lead in a wonderful recap of the work and fabulous music Queen gave us - still enjoy. I can't envision Freddie Mercury resting but I pray with gratitude that God gave him to us and Freddie and his contributions to our good experiences thru entertainment continue for many centuries.EDIT-4-12-24 ...revisiting and the afore-referenced 'quiet' now positively moves me. Today, it's clearly a caring, reflective quiet, still mourning, never forgotten - loved, Queen.
