Did I miss a great pizzeria you know? Let me know on the comments!
You missed A LOT of great pizzerias. Palermo's in Bordentown. Lillo's in Hainesport (they also have the BEST cheesesteak I've ever had). Brooklyn Square in Jackson. So many better places in NJ.
@teej626 whoa.. sounds like a second video haha this is great! Thanks TJ!
Vic's in Bradly Beach
Bro, definitely try Brooklyn Square in Jackson Township. The owner used to live in NYC & moved to NJ & opened his spots out there. The onion with cheese slice is to die for. I make the trip at least once a year from nyc, it's that good!
Also, Palermo's in Bordentown. Unbelievable cheese. I had their regular cheese pie but the tomatoe one is great also from what I've heard.
For dessert pizza, go to Brother Bruno's on Hamburg Tpke, Wayne, NJ. They're known for pizza with a sweet dessert like twist. Thank me later, lol. As a NY'er I have to admit NJ has America's best pizza. Like NJ is up there when it comes to pizza.
@@zohaib876 I would like to second Brooklyn Square. The upside down pizza is in the running for the best pizza I've ever had.
If you’re going to be a pizza judge or pizza expert, EVERYONE knows that the true way to judge a pizza is to order a regular pizza (no toppings).
Thanks for taking time to leave this comment! I'm no expert or judge, but I feel like you can miss out a lot from just trying out from plain slices. Not everyone enjoys regular slices, and some pizzerias are known for different types of sauces/toppings. In this video, I asked all the restaurants what the most popular items were and got whatever they said was most popular to get the best flavor/pizza experience unique to that location :) I try to make my videos so we can share the experiences together haha
If the cheese slice ain’t right. Nothings right. EOS
@@wandering_hams I’ll give you an example. My cousin used to order pizza from this place in Jersey that was just awful, pizza was brutal. This one time he ordered a chicken francese pie, and it was edible (not good or great), only because the chicken and lemon sauce (francese). Toppings can hide certain things, but it can’t hide how bad a pizza is. You’re basically enjoying the toppings, not the actual pizza.
I mean.. this makes a lot of sense... It's just that some places I go, there are toppings that I can't resist :(
@@wandering_hams Ejoy what ya like !
Omg.. I'm literally drooling watching this video🤤
Federici’s is the best my hometown restaurant been eating the pizza for over 40yrs ✌🏽🙌🏽🍕
What's your favorite pizza? This one was my personal favorite and I'd LOVE to get some recommendations from an Federici expert!
@@wandering_hams Hi I usually order extra cheese well done or onions mushrooms and green peppers with extra cheese well done 👍🏽 😋
@stephaniemyers359 I wish I can like/love this comment more than once haha thanks so much - will definitely try soon!!
You didn't go wrong on any of your choices. Jersey has so many more to choose from that on any day, can be better than the others
You, sir. Just made my day and maybe even my week. Thanks for this wholesome comment :)
You went to the wrong DeLorenzo's. Should have gone to De Lorenzo's Tomato Pies in Robbinsville NJ which was near Papa's.
Hahaa I know that’s what I noticed too. What a goof lol
Whoa this is news to me! Is there a difference?
@@wandering_hams absolutely. Robbinsville is much better.
@@teej626delorenzo is overrated, paying money for burnt bread
@@torresthemonster ummm, no. Been going to De Lorenzo’s for over 25 years. Definitely the best there is. If you want raw dough just ask for a light cook.
Papa’s mustard pie with sausage. My top pick.🍕
Honestly, that was my favorite one too 🔥
You gotta try angelonis in caldwell and calabrias in livingston my boy, thats S tier pizza
Yes, you missed some really good ones. I used to live in Jersey City and ate at Razza's countless times, but I wouldn't call it the best.
1. The Star Tavern - Get a classic pie and the pesto pie. Magical!
2. The Landmark - Get the old world with sauce. Once you start, you will eat the whole pie in minutes.
Fire vid 🔥🔥
As a small tiny creator who isn't even monetized, comment like yours makes my day! Thanks so much and hope you have a great day!!
@@wandering_hams Np you’re a creator, don’t get caught up in how big or small. Keep grinding and you’ll be monetized real soon 💯
Wait until you try Townehouse in Rahway, and DeLucia's in Raritan.
Thanks for the suggestion!! Will visit :)
If you love Razza. And if you don't, you are crazy, try Pizzetiello in Pearl River. Its excellent. You are welcome whoever you are reading this.
Yes I know its NY, but its literally on the border from Montvale Nj. Its worth it.
Wait I'm like 15 minutes from Freehold... Good excuse to go to the Korean super market they have over there after I grab some pizza lmao. I would check out Pete and Eldas next time you are around if you like thin crust pizza. Easily the best thin crust I've had in my life.
Love it when locals recommend! Thanks for this!!
Star Pizza, Orange is #1 thin crust plain pia!
ooh they say they are world famous - looks like its worth visiting! Thanks for the comment!
Best pizza I ever had!
You have to go to the king - Santillos for the real stuff!
Just looked them up! "I'm 100% Italian on my father's side" 😂 Jokes aside, the owner and the brick oven looks legit!
The second spot looked the best, then the last place “RAZZA”….👍🏾👍🏾
Yes yes join the mustard pie clubbbb
@@wandering_hams , I actually NEVER heard of mustard pie until I watched your video yesterday. What is it exactly???
I never knew about it either. It's pizza with Dijon mustard sauce. It sounds.. questionable. But I promise you it's actually quite good. It just adds the tart, spiciness of the mustard to the pie, but doesn't overpower all the other flavors.
Some people call it blasphemy but I think it tastes great haha
@@wandering_hams 👌🏾
Delucia's in Raritan is handsdown #1. The Real DeLorenzo's in Robbinsville is #2.
Thanks for leaving a comment!! I had so many people mentioning delucias. I better visit asap lol
i love eating pizza ❤😂😂🎉😢😢❤❤
Me too!!!
Jersey is the pizza state!
I liked AND loved this comment 🍕
Wrong. Connecticut
Connecticut is laughing at your comment. 😂

Pepe's, Sally's, Modern, etc.
End of discussion.
@@nicholasmuro1742😂. You can’t be serious!
Yummy!
Cousin Marios in Mays Landing. (609) pride.
Just looked them up. Pizza looks legittt
Federici’s is the best!
🍕🤤😊
💬🙏🍕😄
give tonys pizza delight in union a try. one of the best.
Definitely will! Thanks so much for the recommendation!
Federici's is hands down the best
Federici was my favorite spot. That dressing dip was too good to me 😂
@@wandering_hamsHave you tried Delucias in Raritan NJ
@@danlivni2097 In my opinion, the four best are DeLorenzo's (Robbinsville) for Tomato Pie, Conte's (Princeton) for Pizza, Federici's (Freehold) for Bar Pie, DeLucia's (Raritan) for Brick Oven Pizza.
How you didn't go to DeLucia's brick oven pizza is beyond me lol
This is my thoughts everyday lol I am planning to visit real soon though!
Jerry's new Naples Pizza on Union Street in Lodi New Jersey is outstanding they use the old fashioned Coal Fired ovens and the pizza has that flavor
I'm sold at coal fired oven!
Wrong. DeLorenzos Tomato Pies that you have listed above RT 33 is NOT the real Delorenzos TOMATO Pies. The one you went to is DeLorenzos PIZZA, on Sloan Ave in Hamilton NJ.
You need to go back to the RT 33 Delorenzos - and you will get the real "Tomato Pie". When it is hot, and just served.........it is amazing! BTW, adding xtra cheese to one of these, gets you close to a "pizza".
For a geograpic reference, The Papa's restaurant you went to is right down the street from DeLorenzos TOMATO PIES..........on RT 33 in Robbinsville NJ
Contes
Pete’s Pizza
Delponte
Cmon man
Patsys tavern and restaurant in paterson. 9.1 Dave's score and I agreed being I live 10 mins from there
Added to my "To Visit" list - thanks so much!
Carmen’s/Pete and Elda’s
Ooh good pizza AND beachside? Definitely visiting!
Absolutely the best there is maybe in the WORLD! Plus you get in the tee shirt club if you eat the whole pie!
Forgot Rosie’s in Point Pleasant
What's the difference between the spicy one and the non spicy one is such a silly question 😂
Hehe good catch - my brain sometimes stops functioning
@wandering_hams I mean unless they both come with different sides then yeah lol nice vid btw
Lol thanks - hope you enjoyed it!
All good joints but wrong DeLos, gotta do Robbinsville not Hamilton
Chicken on pizza should be outlawed , just like pineapple
wait what?! I can kind of understand pineapple (even though I enjoy it), but chicken?!
Anything on pizza is fine with me if thats what you like.......But real pizza is with traditional toppings that everyone knows about.....
Fredrici looks loke jacks frozen thin pizza
Lol I never had Jack's pizza but damn Federicis gotta step up in their plating game if you're saying their pizza look like frozen box pizza
NJ bro.
You in Jersey, too?
Seattle now, 50 years Jersey, go back each summer for pizza. I'm from Lyndhurst try Bruno's Square pie and Italian ice at Lyndhurst Pastry shop@@wandering_hams
Guy like you would probably like Tony Baloney's Pizza
I just looked them up on google. Their pizza looks really good. No.. "Crazy" might be a better word for it haha
@@wandering_hams try the swine/pepperoni or the taco pie,
both are very good.
@@theboringchannel2027 I was sold at taco pie lol
@@wandering_hams go give them a try.
You ain’t from jersey until you’ve had Pete and Elda’s, Nunzios in long branch and little doms in sea girt
Ooh thanks for the recommendations - heard Nunzios is real good!
I've had Nunzio's. It's pretty good!
Ooh more affirmations!
Went to wrong delorenzos goof!!!!
Oof! Is the original one better?? Should I visit THE delorenzo? 😢
You should try Vic's in Bradly Beach.
Noted!! Thanks for your comment 😄
You didnt goto DeLucias in Raritain.
Is it worth a visit??
@@wandering_hams Its been said people come all over the world to try Delucisa's pizza.
FWIW, I dont recommend the white pizza as its missing the Ricotta cheese and therefore taste like cheese bread.
@@prrhorseshoecurve You have to order a day in advance...which is ridiculous
Funny, I dont have that problem. Call by 11am and pick up the pizza@@billiondollarbaby3276
There's literally no difference between pizza and tomato pie. It's just to be quirky
It's the way it's made. Cheese then chunky sauce spread over.super thin and crispy when cooked right
@@mikeyellen362 So still pizza? Ok
I'm still debating this this with a friend of mine too 😂
It’s like hashbrowns and home fries. Basically the same but different cooking methods lol
Must disagree-Frederico of Freehold is not an A plus pizzas. Many small places have great pizza. Rosele's, on Brighton Ave West End of Long Branch is far superior.
Instead of the slow motion learn how to pick up a hot slice without letting the toppings slide off. Rookie move😂
I have much to learn haha
Federici's is too GREASY to be in the top spot
Feds is phenomenal and i dont know one person whos ever said otherwise. If u dont like federicis u shouldnt be taken seriously. The grease is all a part of that amazing flavor that ONLY they can make. Nobody will ever be able to replicate feds, not pete and eldas or any of the other places with bar pies.
@@murph6559 Agree he has good tasting pie, but again, toooooo much oil/grease knocks it down a couple of rungs. Have to dab it with a napkin or pour the excess
grease off the pie. A little greasy is fine, this pie goes over that line for myself and many others. Go eat a pie at Santillo's in Elizabeth, get the 1964,
same taste as Fediricos, better crust, and without the excess grease,
might become your new favorite.
Agree, too greasy for me
Wrong Delorenzo's...
:(
@@wandering_hams You went to DeLorenzo's Hamilton, a OK pizza place run by a different branch of the family, they make decent regular pizza, not Trenton tomato pie. The legendary pizza was DeLorenzo's Hudson [Street, Trenton] which moved to Robbinsville, NJ (as did Papa's) when the Italian section of Trenton, called Chambersburg, finally faded. DeLorenzo's (now Robbinsville) has retained it's legendary status (one of Portnoy's top 10, I believe). Trenton tomato pie puts the cheese down first and the tomato on top, this results in a crisper crust and a brighter tomato flavor, which makes it distinct and special. In my opinion, DeLorenzo's Robbinsville is the best practitioner of this style.
New Jersey is a fine pizza state. But it is not better than either Connecticut or New York. Nice try by somebody, though.
I believe NY is out of the question. The city of NYC probably has best pizza, but as a state, I doubt it can even compete with CT and NJ. I heard CT pizzas are amazing - and I can't wait to try them out someday
@@wandering_hams NYC is part of New York State. So NY qualifies that way. If we are talking about pizza cities, NYC still places. So I'm not sure what you are arguing about.
You didn’t go to Long Branch
So this ain’t the list kid
Let me know a place, so I can visit for the next pizza video!
NUNZIOS🤌🏼
Noted!! Will def visit on my next pizza trip!!
Once again...everything is in NJ around the same area. South Jersey sucks for food. Especially pizza. You've gotta drive 2 hours to get to a place that's above average. For those who don't know, a 2 hour drive in NJ is a nightmare.
Your comment on driving gave me traumatic flashbacks on the drive on that day 😂😂
That depends on the time of day. But you and all the other complainers should be grateful in thst you have optikns in NJ for bypass routes. Try doing a detour on Long Island and/or Pennsylvania!
Usually, as a complainer, I'd complain about your comment, but Long Island and Pennsylvania IS no joke. So I won't say a word 🤣
If portnoy dont visit you then you cant claim top shit!
He's great - love that guy!
You are way off 😂
🥲
@@wandering_hamseveryone dragging you makes your channel more endearing lol 😂 subbed. Maybe start purposely going to the worst spots for clicks and comments! 🤷♀️ 💀
The old judge in Hackensack New Jersey that's Northern New Jersey is the best pizza in the world.
Federicis usually burns the shit out of there pizzas and Bruce isn’t from Freehold lol
Thankfully, my pizza was amazing haha lucky me!
Bruce grew up in Freehold. Even wrote a song about it,
You spelled New York wrong
Nope! New Jersey. New York City is undeniably the king city of pizza, but as a state, NJ has the best pizza. NJ and CT have been battling for the title for EVER though, haha
Didn’t age well. CT is THE pizza state, always has been and always will be. But you’re a decent 2nd or 3rd NJ. Much love
Time will come. Jersey shall overcome once more.
Come check out Wooster Street and Little Rendezvous!
Everyone listens to Dave Portnoy, what you say isn't valid.
The fact that he's brought up on my video is an honor haha I love his reviews! Thanks for your comment :)
@@wandering_hams
Connecticut is #1
wtf is buffalo chicken pizza??? You don't judge a quality pizza by ordering that garbage. I am from New Jersey...you order plain cheese and tomato sauce...that is the only way.
I noticed that you never went to South Jersey or the Jersey shore or West Jersey and you know why because their pizza sucks, let me backpedal just a bit. It’s not that they suck, but they’re nowhere near as good as New Jersey and still North Jersey still comes in second to New York City.
I wouldn't say the best pizza.
All the wrong spots
Where are the right ones? Thanks in advance!
had to open the video just to give it a thumbs down
how dare you
Huh??? Go make some bacon pancakes, bro lol
Razza is overrated and overpriced
But I REALLY enjoyed Razza 🥲
Robbinsville for pizza?
you don't know what good pizza is
I'm sorry 😢
Federici's sucks!!!!!
New jersey certainly not the number 1 state for pizza
I think CT recently took over, but jersey will be no 1 in my heart forever 🥲
First error - never put tomato sauce on a buffalo pie. Lame
😢
😂😂😂😂😂
