As someone who currently works at Subway, I can confirm a similar situation has happened to me. People don't know what to call red onions, banana peppers, or spinach half the time.
I work there and I always get people calling it the "other lettuce"

The system they used to rate was super inconsistent and foggy lol, like Chick-fil-a objectively has the best atmosphere and dining experience but they didn't really base their rating on that it seems, I understand its all in good heart though

@《Kev》 they marinate the chicken in a mixture of buttermilk and pickle juice. It brines the chicken and seals the juices in while the buttermilk tenderizes it. It's ingenious and yes they have killer customer service. Hope you have a nice night sir.

Five guys is way overpriced. You get a burger and fries and it's like $15. Burger is whatever, but they have good fries. In-N-Out you get a whole meal for like $7. They really shouldn't even be compared that often for price alone.

Convenience, fair but most people gotta drive past multiple a-c tier restaurants to even find one, and the price is only ok, you are still paying $9 for a burger worth $5 and you are getting D-F tier fries and a regular drink, not anything special like Mcdonalds or Taco Bell or Sonic can provide. General Satisfaction, you arent ordering a burger or sandwich if you WANT to go to DQ, you are getting Ice cream, satisfying ice cream, but you can get better ice cream somewhere else, better food, somewhere else.

Former in n out employee here to correct some of what you said about the fries. We did put the potatoes in cold water that we hold in big metal things in the back and then when we chop them up they go in the sink which is either cold or warm water depending on the day/starch levels in the potatoes. They do really suck if they're cold though

The Coke at McDonalds isnt different its just a thinner mix meaning less syrup and less sweet, which actually makes it taste much better and more refreshing. I always add soda water to my Coke to thin it out whenever possible. It tastes sooo much better.

I once talked food with two fellas in a holding cell (after being arrested for an unpaid parking ticket) for 4 straight hours. We talked about the best spots in Houston. Then we veered into my Libertarian politics with a graduate from Brown and his insistence that Libertarianism couldn't work. He concluded I should be a professor and and I'd be the quirky type that students would love. Nice dude.
