- The Vancouver Canucks lose to the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 in game 4, Brock Boeser to Dakota Joshua nearly won it for the nucks but Evan Bouchard in the last few seconds scores to retake the lead for the Oilers. Game 5 is in Vancouver on Thursday!

Damn, that charge out to meet the puck by Silovs was a super ballsy move, and I’m absolutely loving it. We’re so lucky to have such great goaltenders, it’s a shame they have to carry the entire team for us sometimes. The last 10 minutes of the game prove that we have what it takes when we’re backed into a corner, if only we could play like that for the whole game.
100% agree
NO MORE PROCRASTINATOR HOCKEY!
Vancouver is trying play like they are the 85 flyers, throwing hits and not taking shots. You guys have the speed and skill to match them, beat em on the shot column not the hit column.
If the Canucks played an entire game they may win a series or two !
could be, would be, should be.....wont be.

Oilers played amazing defence. They get a lot of slack for not playing defence but all the metrics point to them being one of the best defensive teams in the NHL it’s really goaltending that kills them but if they get average goaltending they win. Look at Vancouver’s expected goals 5x5 they are horrible, need more production from a lot of guys.
When Arty raced to the puck I absolutely lost it.
It was a good play gave us a chance to win game
If that was game 7. The police would be like fk here we go again

Wow that Canucks goalie had balls on that play and damn lucky he connected with that puck for that crazy save
Don't sound so defeated an turn your back on our team! We lost two games to Nashville last series.
It's just a shitty way to lose, being given a shiny glimmer of hope, only to have it snuffed out. That's why it stings so badly.
Yup. We still got the road split, we still have home ice. I like our chances we can beat these guys
Final 10 minutes if you ask me. You got it Deaner. To much watching tonight and at least the ref's didn't try to manage the game. Great series. .. but IMO it could of easily been 4-0 Canucks. Played like losers last night. Waisted effort by Silovs... just out standing!
lol you mean could have easily been 4-0 Oilers
Silovs is a dawg
Few key players are completely invisible out there. Have to play a full 60 in order to win. Garland and Silovs were great.
Needing to pick it up:
Petey, Cole, Mackyiev, Hronek,. Coach said as much without names.
Speaking as a Canucks fan here. The amount of bad luck that I have seen happen to teams that I've cheered for my whole life has been absolutely unprecedented. It's been so bad that I honestly have to conclude that there are supernatural forces at work preventing my teams from winning. If the Canucks don't win this series I'm seriously going to consider resigning as a sports fan. It really is the only solution.
The Canucks will not win the cup for a long long time.
I don’t see Picard winning the next away game in Van. Likely this goes to 7 games and it’s a coin toss with slight advantage to Van at home.
Skinner will be starting next game for the Oilers.
@@halmartin7417 NO way!?
@@OnwardsUpwards Nope. Changed to Pickard again.
I knew juulsen was gonna do some dumb shit like that. In the regular season I saw that multiple times where he threw us out of games because of making a useless hit. I called this when people were saying take Ian Cole out the game and put juulsen in. Man has no defensive awareness or good positioning.
The thing that annoys me most is how the Canucks get outshot heavily in almost every game. They were doing fine up until the halfway point of the regular season. Since then, they just dont get pucks to the net. I'm still amazed we beat Nashville with such a low shot count. We had 12 shots in one of those games.
FINALLY people are seeing Hronek is not a playoff player‼️‼️ I’ve been saying this since round 1, he’s inconsistent, doesn’t push for the puck when it matters and makes questionable passes on the ice. He brings down Hughes, which isn’t allowing our captain to play to his full potential. Unfortunately there really isn’t any other pairing for Hughes. In my honest opinion I hope we see hronek traded off for someone with more competence as a dman
You say Canucks could be up 3-1 in the series. Yet oilers could be up 4-0 in the series considering how good Vancouver goalie has been. And the coming back from being down numerous goals etc.
I agree, These have been 1 goal games and Skinner was subpar this series. Had oilers been getting average goaltending and not letting in soft ones, they could have won this series.
@Shawn-st2lx exactly my take on it my friend
Honestly not worried, this game proved Canucks are the better team when holding a lead than the oils. If Canucks can come out playing strong like they did in game 3 then they can win the game and the series. They won’t be giving up last minute goals any time soon and tocchet with be making some line movements because some of these guys are not good out there
This series could be 4-0 for Canucks and the oilers , wild series
These teams are going to be worthy adversaries for awhile. I just hope both the oilers and canucks can contend with the East
Last 2 cups are in the West. Why is the East a concern?
@@Marixa1979 FLA, BOS, CAR and NYR all looking pretty scary to be fair.
@@mrchi3f1179 Boston isn't that scary. Any team can be scary on a given night. If the Oilers play their best game, they can beat any team.
New York mostly. The hockey is a little different in my eye.
Let's face it - the Oilers deserve to win last night. Silovs kept the game close, they got a couple of late goals to make it interesting and the winning goal was on a bad defensive assignment, leading to a screen so Silovs couldn't track the puck. But they can't keep doing this, or they won't even get out of this round, let alone be competitive in the next one. This is the Oilers. Sure, they've improved defensively, but you still have to be able to get more chances and shots on goal. Their goalie didn't have to be spectacular and they showed that when they actually started playing better in the 3rd, they got some goals. But if they're relying on letting the Oilers dictate play for 40 minutes straight, they're not going to win very often, no matter how good their goaltending is. Silovs was arguably the only guy who came to play for 60 minutes. Garland was working hard, but there was a long list of guys who weren't doing their jobs. Everyone focuses on Pettersson, but it's not just him. Everyone looks like they're content to play on their heels for most of the game and then come alive late. You can't say it's because the Oilers got tired, because if there's no pushback, they're not tiring out the Oilers like they should be.
High sticking before the 3rd Edmonton goal
I 100% agree with you as an oilers fan, they did not show up untill the last 15 o was sweating
This team is leaning what it takes In The playoffs.
Rarely does a team that’s been away from the playoffs for EVER go to the cup.
This is about teaching what it takes to grind your way to the cup.
About pressure to perform and support your for your team.
It’s roleplaying and taking it to the next level.
The next issue will be the Cap. Now we will lose many of the current Canucks and the learning curve begins again.
Ever Thus.
I thought this was the best game Vancouver played. They weren't out shot 2 to 1 for once. Pickard just stopped more than 12 F%$# ing shots!! I'm talking to you Skinner!
I'm getting tired of their zone entry -- dump and chase doesn't work if you're not going to forecheck? I didn't realise it was that confusing.
I mean Oilers are playing 60 minutes every night, while the Canucks are only playing 20-40 minutes a night. If the Canucks can pull out a full effort and get more than 20 shots on goal, I like their chances of winning this series still. Pettersson was fine last night, but he simply needs to be a difference maker. Need Tocchet to put some skill on his wing. Hronek also a one that needs to step up his game, that final goal was all on him imo and he’s asking for 8M for his next contract lmao.
Silovs is playing amazing, both these teams are playing zone defense.
The Oilers are just the better team. Canucks are great at capitalizing on there little opportunities though, they have a bright future if Peterson steps up.
I miss John Shorthouse telling us when there is 420 left in a period or if we're 420 into a period :(
4:04 Fun fact. This Canucks team now has the lowest shot total after 10 playoff games, in NHL history. It wasn't that they just didn't shoot enough on Pickard, they weren't able to.
The first goal is really rough looks like a really weird bounce. Silovs was so close to robbing drai there.
This series is definitely going to be a nail biter
Canucks haven’t peaked yet. And this is the Oilers team everyone said in 5!? Canucks in 6
Canucks in 7
Cole may not have scored on the Canucks but his absolute ineptitude in clearing the puck, is what led to chaos and Miller's penalty. Cole had 3 tries to move the puck out in a span of about 20 seconds. Tocchet has a blindspot for this guy.
Oilers played good but, as Tocchett said after the game we have guys that have to pick it up and do something. Petey looks scared out there. His linemates have such little going by way of offense, must be making it even worse for him.
That being said, we played bad and still it was right there for the taking. Cmon guys, let's go!
They play dump n chase not exactly a recipe for offence either
All these comments saying the Nucks could be up 3-1??? Look at which team has been carrying play. Silovs is the ONLY reason the Oilers aren't waitng to see if they play the Avs or the Stars today. It seems like Tocchet is the only person who understands this, so at least there's that.
i know this is completely off topic but i feel like considering how vancouver has 3 goalies who have been great i feel like edmonton should trade for desmith as a potential backup or 1a/1b option
Yeah but why would the Canucks want to help a divisional rival by giving them what they want?
@@DeanerHD because edmonton would obviously offer enough to make it worth it to the canucks. plus oilers have a long history of ruining goalies so they probably wouldn’t even have to worry about him anymore in 2 years
If healthy Demko was in, I think the Canucks could be up 3-1
Disagree. Silovs has not been the issue.
@@KingPoC47I agree that kid has stood on his head!! No fear!! Unlike Petterson, he looks ready to take the turtle every hit. Is he hurt?
@@KingPoC47 He hasn’t been, but in a series this close, one or two saves or rebound controls makes all the difference
If they keep that last period energy for atleast 2 periods no team is coming near the cancuks
its took them long enough to finally switch off the entry into edmontons end, see how the oilers stack the blueline last 4 games then canucks get speed and dump? started getting chances.
leave julson alone he was at least trying 1st playoff game so he was the least of our problems

Canucks will win the series. Book it
The Canucks should have challenged Pickard from the very start of the game.
Soucy hit causes McDavid breakaway. Juulson hit causes Hopkins goal. Ugh. Thank god we get Soucy back.

O man canucks fans having a meltdown lol.😂. Yeah oilers too good. Lucky you've had spectacular goaltending otherwise you wouldn't even be competing and the series would be over all ready. Both teams makeing adjustments, knobs adjusted his lineup the ball in canucks court now. Expect tocchet to make some changes. Maybe even goalie changes. Oilers controlled the play for the most part, van had a few strong shifts. That 4 min pp was the turning point.😊 Go oilers go, game 5 gonna be 5-3 oilers.

you guys have only managed 20 shots every game lol if you're not winning like that then you're just not winning because that's how your team plays lol. Just goes to show how much puck luck they have had throughout this playoff run so far
They were the second least shots in a playoff series at the start of that game in NHL history
Tbf oilers also don’t play the whole game
We need to move on from Pettersson. He does jack shit
Love Julsen but he just doesnt learn. Big heart no brain.
Why does Petterson look like he's a little boy skating around with grown men? He literally moves slower than everyone else.
Because he has the balls of a little boy. It's not rocket science.
picard didn't face any tough shots. oil did a good job of protecting him. petie is a lost cause. hindsight is 20/20 but pressing him to sign is looking like a mistake. 11.7 albatross. our darnell nurse/huberdeau signing.
1 line 4 this game - Canucks looked like they forgot how to play hockey. Absolute trash.
Hope this loss teaches them that we cant win by only turning it on for 10 minutes. Need to have a completely 60 minute effort next game. With home ice advantage, im looking for the Lotto line, Dak Lind Garland, Holander Suter Mikheyev and Lafferty Bleuger Podkolzin

Fair enough…. But I’m just saying, it’s the playoffs. It’s hard to find moral victories when you know this team can be so much better than that. Anyone who watched that would know that the effort was poor, and the door was wide open given Edmonton’s struggles aswell.
@@DeanerHD yes, you are correct and if they were playing to the best of their abilities then it would’ve been a sweep, vs Edmonton (IMO) but focusing on the negatives only makes it worse. Again love the posts keep ‘em up I’m just saying my part.
Come on guys. The Oilers have outshot and outplayed the Canucks at least 9 of the 12 periods so far, and if it weren't for Skinner's inability to up his game for the playoffs against any decent offensive team, this series would be all but over.
Stop arguing the numbers just because you don't want them to be true. They tell the tale.
Nashville also did the same, and the Canucks have played like this since January, sitting back until the third until finally putting in effort and somehow getting something out of it, difference here is that the Canucks forgot they had to get to overtime and didn’t get a free pass
