Also *LIFTS DON'T FREEFALL!* I am sick of people thinking lifts freefall because they don't. The chance of a lift freefalling is so slim you have a higher chance of winning the lottery 10X in a row than freefalling in a lift. Also thousands of people fall and die in stairs per year meanwhile only like 100 people per year die in lifts and that is mostly just in china and other places that don't have good regulations. Anyways, please stop commenting “this is why i take the stairs” Sorry for rambling.

I've seen fast-food restaurants with upstairs dining areas -- one particular McD's had this, and the back of the cab also had rear doors for access to the back area (easier for employees to bring a mop bucket to clean the upper floor, etc).
When people say “elevators are not toys” idot annoys me quite a bit. I was told that a lot as a kid but as a kid I knew basic elevator courtesy and not to jump in them. There isn’t any harm in just taking them up and down a few times, normally while not trying to break it. If it does break when you are being super sensible then really it’s the elevators fault not yours
@@bradentheman1373 what happened was the outer door was disconnected too early and safety tripped. The elevator couldn’t move and the inner door locked in place. Slamming the door or reconnecting it using a key would connect it, which they accidentally did. Only reason I keep my triangle key on me (triangle key is a common drop key in the uk) is for situations like this.
Well good thing elevators will not take off if the shaft door is open like that because of a safety circuit built in because you wouldve either gotten crushed between the cab and the shaftway or you wouldve ended up in the shaft or something
Ah classic. The door rollers didn’t do what they are supposed to. That tripped the safety lock and caused the elevator to stall where it was located at that time. They need to get that thing schecked out asap or more people will get stuck…
Why the kids being blamed for this? Clearly the elevator is malfunctioning. Kids can’t make the elevator stuck unless they jump and cause teen breaks. Plus the door interlocks were broken. Get it properly maintained.
Please never attempt to defeat an interlock unless you absolutely know what you are doing. What you did is very dangerous, and more importantly, put your children in danger. Please, be smarter next time something like this happens.
1:30 Next time a door gets stuck in a weird position, just use that much force on it instead of what you were doing. This is potentially unsafe for the equipment and you would've made the damages even more pricy by attempting these contents. If you use enough force the coupler will reconnect the interlocks and the doors will operate fine.
When I was on vacay in Cyprus there was a lift there it was a glass kone ecodisc I loved it I like going in elevators and even go on escalators on my owl the play place was fun I really recommend taking a visit there
The lift's outer door was open. Because of the safety mechanisms of the lift, it won't move with the doors open. Some lifts will go out of service or shut down if the safety circuit is unexpectedly broken, and the fire brigade or lift engineer will have to go on top of the lift or into the logic cabinet to reset it. Because it looks like the outer door detached from the inner door, a problem that happens a lot with lifts that are poorly maintained, it could be possible to reattach the door by simply pushing it closed, which will connect the safety circuit and make the lift move, or pull the interlock lever to unlock the inner door and free the passengers. There is almost no danger in doing the latter (as long as the lift is stopped at a floor) because the lift can't move with the doors open and the fire brigade will most likely do the same thing to free the passengers, they would use a special key to unlock the doors and free the passengers. Edit: After slamming the outer door shut, it reattached to the inner door. The lift then detected that the doors were closed, and, because someone pressed the floor button or the open button, the lift opened the door.
If I were there when that happened, I would've intervened. I'd approach the elevator and say "Kids I'm gonna get you out of there right now. I just need all of you to stand clear of the door.", then I'd slam that outer door shut and badabing badaboom, it would open. If anyone there were to ask how I did it, I'd tell them that the amount of force I used was enough to reconnect the doors. Then I'd tell the parents that it's not their kids' fault and that the restaurant needs to take better care of this elevator or else it could happen again.
Just started working back at McDonalds. This time I'm working in a two storey building with a lift but unlike the one in this video it is kept locked and only made available to wheelchair and pushchair users.
