As an artist, I really enjoyed this exchange between, Michael and Billy. There just isn't enough appreciation of the old art and craft works in the world. So much of what we take for granted in our modern world, such as rolls of wallpapers, ceramic tiles or even the simple pencil are creations of a bygone age that we utilise in some form or other today.

What a great Idea Billy, Michael could do a class - conservation is a life long learning experience and they could learn from him and he in turn might learn from them. They could do trips together to artisan places to learn even more. Not that your brother isn't busy enough with his cottage, green house, Chateau Kitchen, Decorating Chateau Bedrooms for guests, sealing the Terrace and making preparations for the Chapel Ceiling.. He might have time to teach a class or two if Mortimer behaves and doesn't have Michael in with the cows lol

The framed wallpaper samples will go well in your library gallery maybe?

Perhaps digitally scan the wallpaper and have copies and fabrics made?

Looks almost like William Morrison's wallpaper. Once you digitize the paper I hope you make it available to purchase the digis. These would be perfect for some of my art projects.

Don't you have those rolls of paper on shelves in the room that the hidden room was? As brothers I don't think I've seen two that work so well together. ❤

Hello Billy & Michael, it's one thing to find this old wallpaper, but certainly another to re-produce it - well done for conserving it, and to be used in the convent!! Well done. Best wishes from Lincolnshire.

To ensure proper ventilation why don't you leave the trim off the bottom? It looks great with a wonderful floor you put down

I love that you are going to work on preserving the wallpaper. My parents had to recently take down my grandparents old farm house here in America that was over 200 years old and was a log cabin built before the Civil war era and was once owned by a civil war physician. The old wallpaper in the upstairs bedroom that was once my mother's room as a child, my father took a portion of the drywall with the wallpaper and made a shadow box and gave myself and each of my sisters a shadow box for Christmas this past year with two different kinds of wallpaper from the old farmhouse and the shadowbox has clear glass on each side so we can turn it whenever to display the two different prints. I made a label with the information about the old house for our children and grandchildren to have as a keepsake of their heritage after when have passed on. You all have so much talent and Michael's historical knowledge and artistic talent is a great bonus for you all with these historical buildings a prized possession for sure having Michael in your family.

There are company's that reproduce 'original' wall papers using the original printing methods 🤔
