Damn, that INTP one hits so close to home because I actually taught myself Assembly Language because I was trying to exploit video games, back during O levels which is the equivalent of the first few years of High School.
I enjoyed Skyrim and Morrowind a lot but then I modded it so much that the real game became "how many mods can I successfully load while maintaining stability", but then I corrupted my Morrowind save file messing around with 200 mods and ended up having to use a hex editing tool to fix some kind of reference problem. Now that I think about it, I know way too much about the engine and data structures in Bethesda games work. INTP moment Oh snap... I just realized the month of May came and went-- and I didn't check the Morrowind May Modathon to see what new advances in Morrowind Modding were achieved!
When I'm on Steam, I like to exercise my inferior Se just a bit, but not too much. I impulse bought Blasphemous in December 2021 and found that it had its 3rd and final free DLC expansion. On the whole, it was a visceral experience that touched on the topics of how religion can potentially corrupt all aspects and how the deities that are worshipped can be just as callous and selfish as humans are. The map is expansive and vast yet everything is interconnected and cohesive so you always have an idea of where you want to go. The art style is beautiful yet grim, which evokes that feeling of the ugliness found within that beauty like unspeakable things happening within a cathedral of master crafted stained glass windows and golden reliquaries. Controlling the Penitent One is smooth and satisfying, as is the combat when you have a solid grasp of it. The gameplay has a hard but mostly fair approach, as in if you lean into its fairness and analyse the patterns of attack, you can defeat bosses on the first go. This isn't like Dead Cells, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night or Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, where the character just feels sort of weightless and super agile. Keeping everything on brand for a gritty and high impact setting, everything you do has weight. If you get to carried away in your offensive, you can be slow to recover and may end up taking massive damage as a result, for example. 8.5/10, would recommend
Me. INTJ as well. Not only in videogames. But in animation in general. Always late to the new games, more into niche ones. Adding that those are my special interest (i'm autistic) and I don't have money. And with a delicate economic situation. And I HAD to trust reviews after wasting my money on tickets for a mediocre movie that people tried con convince me that "It could be good". I slept on it. It was a BORING movie... It was pain.
Same here. I don't play games much anymore myself, but I recently went CRAZY and ordered a pre-owned copy of Portal 2 from Ebay for my son and I to play on our PlayStation 3. Cost me a whole $20 bucks, I feel so wild!

When I play games everyone gets mad at me for always trying my best even if they want to play "casual" this game was made for me to master the idea of not doing my best at the game just feels wrong and strange I am INTJ who feels the same and are you different letters?
I usually like things before they are trendy: stranger things (I only watched season 1; a month later it became popular in my school.), the flash, tiktok(only when people would bully others for fun when it was first released in the US.), etc.
INTJ here - very accurate! I will wait for a) games to go on sale, and b) always read spoilers and min - maxing techniques before purchasing. It drives my brother insane when I am always 2 years behind on the newest games - he's done with them by the time I start playing!
As an INFP, I prefer video games with great stories, characters, and lore. Although, I keep switching games after a few weeks because I either get burnt out or bored of them. Haha 😂
More like I don't want to spend more time on the 2nd playthrough when I can get the trophy now so youtube it or I find the cheese so I can solo this level. Now that is smart, right?

It makes me feel bad if I don’t help them but at the same time I also need me time. At the end of the day, deleting the game app is the best decision ever 😂
I mean I don't really wait to buy games, but I do watch/read a shitload before I buy them AND usually aim for hour playtime/$1 ratio to be as high as possible. It's why I play a lot of jrpgs. As many as 200 hours in some cases for 60 bucks is a way better value than a movie where you pay $5-10 to watch a 2 hour movie, without the need to deal with all the people in the theater. EDIT: As a sidenote, I hate overwatch
As an INTJ : It's not just about games. I watch many reviews about books, series , movies , etc . It's not just because of money. It's also because of time. I don't like waste my time on something wrong.

As an INFP, I actually enjoy getting into a series long after it has been established. I enjoy reading up on the lore and viewing official and fan-made media as much as I enjoy the games in the series themselves, so finding series with a lot of lore that I can delve into and a large collection of fan media I can enjoy is a lot more entertaining than getting into a small, newer series that still has shallow lore and where I would have to wait for fan media to be created.
I remember my INTP brother once posting about the 16 personality test on a strategy gaming forum. The thread got lots of replies, and the idea was that everyone was to post a screenshot of their test results. I still remember very clearly, nearly everyone who replied, barring one or two exceptions, were Analysts (NT type), and even more surprising was the fact that the majority of the players in the forum were INTPs and INTJs. It was like an upside down world, where the Analysts are the most common personality type! I pretty much relate to what the ENTJ said, when mentioning about strategy games. Mount & Blade and Age of Empires can really make you think and think for hours, even after you've stopped playing them.
If a game I like or am interested in gains traction, then I usually join in on the hype for a while. But I also tend to come across obscure games that I've never played but end up liking because of small things like the art style, music, story and/or how fun the gameplay looks and imagine what it would've been like if these games had bigger fanbases. While coming across obscure gems before they become popular does feel satisfying, it also kind of makes me feel a little empty and depressed when the game doesn't have much of a fanbase, like at all. Especially when it's a game you feel has a lot of untapped potential. (If that makes sense 😅)
When I clicked on a video, I knew it must be a farming sim game for an INFJ lol and the way that I always prepare gifts for every villager and trying to please everyone of them are so spotted on.

INFP but I’m don’t care what anyone else is playing. I just do what makes me happy. Except I’m committed to finishing the newest Paper Mario even though it somehow purged everything that was great about the older games because my husband bought it for me for Christmas and it was really thoughtful.

I’m an INTJ. My favorite game of all time is civilization and my second favorite is rise of nations. I would agree, the ENTJ probably fits me better. I would never wait for those games to go on sale.

as an istp my side is more ENFP when gaming. The only games I've 100%'d are Drunken Wrestlers 2 and Garfield Kart: Furious Racing. Latter I bought as a joke with friends on launch date and we said "What if we played this game like 200 hours and left a nice review of it for the memes" but instead they only have played it 7 hours in the whole year and never left a review, I played 20 hours and had unlocked every achievement. also in hidden identity games like Among Us I never kill anyone as impostor and tell honestly where I am as both, and do tasks quick either before or after I'm killed. Also the ISTP qualities show in as I enjoy grinding as it's my equivalent of the "a lot of projects started, barely ever finished" stereotype associated with the personality.
I am an INFP and I do the same thing as you. I like to find ways to simplify my life and sometimes I don't hesitate to cheat or find hacks to achieve my goals easily. My logic is why do complicated when there are ways to do simpler... oh yes, the adrenaline and the sense of achievements obtained from the completions of the games... I can do without it.

I'm not criticizing the video, I know that stereotypes are necessary for making funny videos because without them, it would be boring, and I like these videos.
As an INTJ, watching multiple reviews before committing on any purchase is too true....plus while I'm watching reviews and contemplating, I'm also passing time, increasing my chances that said item could be on sale by the time I decide to purchase it

I like spending like 100 hours in training mode in fighting games. I love to find new ways to destroy my opponents when its the time to actually play against real people. But single player games are also very relaxing.
INTP here, and same. I will say that there are some impulse buys I do - but the reasons I do it are that they are similar to what I like, are from the creator of an IP I like, or I watched gameplay and liked it. That semi-impulse buying I do got me into the soulsborne series and city builders as well as simulation games (like Civ 5, the best civ game).

As an INFJ, I freaking love Stardew Valley and it is really annoying for me to do all the things I have planned in a day. I mean, when it's the last day of doing one mission for someone who goes to their room (I haven't unlocked yet) plus I need to buy at Pierre's (last day to follow my organized schedule of which seeds buying), plus I need to go fishing because of the rain (per example, the last days of a season, so I cannot get that fish in other moment) I really disconnect the game and all my three farms are stopped because of the needing of mine of being efficient.

Personally, I’ve had an healthier competitive mindset since I’ve started playing fighting game, where my strive to understand the game and improve just humbles over being frustrated and blaming everything, that being said I also allow my self to blame stupid stuff while I’m playing and then have a clearer reflection on them afterward just so I can keep more focus
ENFP here. Just to prove that I could achieve something I set up my mind on finishing Skyrim. It has been 230 hours and we are not coming to an end. I need help
Last year for a school assignment, we had to play the equivalent of the 20 first level of a game and I continued playing that game until I arrived to what I thought was the end (level 100 or something). Turns out it was a bonus level that reset the game with an advantage. So I'm still playing until I arrive at the last level again. Pretty sure I'm the only one in my class still playing
As an INTP, I immediately recognized myself when he said that it gets him irritated 🤣 That's exactly how I would react and argue with myself when someone tells me that I'm lazy and stuff. It may seem wrong with others but to me, it feels strongly right! Then that "I think" part is accurate too 🤣 When that comes to my mind, I would for sure think for other things that relates to that topic until I find a solid ground. I like doubting other people and proving them wrong , and sometimes it also includes myself as well.
Totally nailed the INTJ. I can hesitate for years before buying a game (and sometimes I still don't buy it), looking at reviews, trying to figure out if I'll like it, if it's worth the price. 😳
Ditto for me, also applies to TV series & Anime. I tend to wait till at least a whole season is out, see what the reviews are before I bother. So I am like, literally always a year behind everyone. LOL The only exception has been during the Covid19 stuff, where I have had more free time than any other year of my life.
@@amandacoelho9524 Well for starters reviews are a way to prevent problems before they happen and watching reviews before buying could be considered a problem solving behavior. The other thing is that you need to feel confident in your decisions. I watch a lot of reviews but pay full price for games all the time, but that's because I do the math of how many hours of playtime there is, how well reviewers have rated the game, etc., etc. I've never really found a game that I couldn't find enjoyment of some form in, but my scope of what I find interesting is massive. The closest I've come to regretting a game purchase I've been in recent years was Death Stranding and that's mainly because I tend to dislike the tedious nature of the game.

INFP relating more to INTP with this one. I actually pretty much stick to RPGs as a genre for the story and immersion, but I do end up spending maybe more time looking up info about the game sometimes. Depends on the game, though (like I'm more likely to do this if it has complex systems).

Same! If I play a game I either put everything into it or I don't play it, there's no inbetween for me. Out of all my friends I have the highest amount of achievements in Genshin Impact (And the ones based on RNG trigger me so much...) and when there's a new patch I always speedrun the new achievements first. Feels good man

I (ISFJ) do like the Legend of Zelda. I love how they decided to bring back the earliest concept of a big world to explore for BOTW, but in 3D. It's funny, because while I do like Ocarina of Time, I don't think it is a superior Zelda title, unlike a lot of other people who prefer the classics.

I'm an INFP and I think all I played when I was young was Sims and Harvest Moon. All the other games I know are from watching my two older brothers play! I enjoy watching them play video games (Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, etc.) more than I like playing them myself.

I'm INFP and I like open world survival sandbox games to an UNHEALTHY degree. Was a bit disappointed that the guy didn't talk about his 1500 hours on ARK.
INTJ here: James is always right, I like MMORPG's and most of the time they're free to play. I am not impulsive with buying games. I always check reviews, watch on CZcams for 1 hour game play, and most of the time I wait for the good sales to come by.

I enjoyed Skyrim and Morrowind a lot but then I modded it so much that the real game became "how many mods can I successfully load while maintaining stability", but then I corrupted my Morrowind save file messing around with 200 mods and ended up having to use a hex editing tool to fix some kind of reference problem. Now that I think about it, I know way too much about the engine and data structures in Bethesda games work.

When I'm on Steam, I like to exercise my inferior Se just a bit, but not too much. I impulse bought Blasphemous in December 2021 and found that it had its 3rd and final free DLC expansion. On the whole, it was a visceral experience that touched on the topics of how religion can potentially corrupt all aspects and how the deities that are worshipped can be just as callous and selfish as humans are. The map is expansive and vast yet everything is interconnected and cohesive so you always have an idea of where you want to go. The art style is beautiful yet grim, which evokes that feeling of the ugliness found within that beauty like unspeakable things happening within a cathedral of master crafted stained glass windows and golden reliquaries. Controlling the Penitent One is smooth and satisfying, as is the combat when you have a solid grasp of it. The gameplay has a hard but mostly fair approach, as in if you lean into its fairness and analyse the patterns of attack, you can defeat bosses on the first go. This isn't like Dead Cells, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night or Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, where the character just feels sort of weightless and super agile. Keeping everything on brand for a gritty and high impact setting, everything you do has weight. If you get to carried away in your offensive, you can be slow to recover and may end up taking massive damage as a result, for example.

As an INFP who started watching Survivor in 2019, I can attest to us totally missing trends.
That INTJ one is too real. I spent days researching which games to buy and estimating the value versus price.
I mean I don't really wait to buy games, but I do watch/read a shitload before I buy them AND usually aim for hour playtime/$1 ratio to be as high as possible. It's why I play a lot of jrpgs. As many as 200 hours in some cases for 60 bucks is a way better value than a movie where you pay $5-10 to watch a 2 hour movie, without the need to deal with all the people in the theater.

As an INFP, I actually enjoy getting into a series long after it has been established. I enjoy reading up on the lore and viewing official and fan-made media as much as I enjoy the games in the series themselves, so finding series with a lot of lore that I can delve into and a large collection of fan media I can enjoy is a lot more entertaining than getting into a small, newer series that still has shallow lore and where I would have to wait for fan media to be created.

I remember my INTP brother once posting about the 16 personality test on a strategy gaming forum. The thread got lots of replies, and the idea was that everyone was to post a screenshot of their test results. I still remember very clearly, nearly everyone who replied, barring one or two exceptions, were Analysts (NT type), and even more surprising was the fact that the majority of the players in the forum were INTPs and INTJs. It was like an upside down world, where the Analysts are the most common personality type!
I pretty much relate to what the ENTJ said, when mentioning about strategy games. Mount & Blade and Age of Empires can really make you think and think for hours, even after you've stopped playing them.

If a game I like or am interested in gains traction, then I usually join in on the hype for a while.
But I also tend to come across obscure games that I've never played but end up liking because of small things like the art style, music, story and/or how fun the gameplay looks and imagine what it would've been like if these games had bigger fanbases.
While coming across obscure gems before they become popular does feel satisfying, it also kind of makes me feel a little empty and depressed when the game doesn't have much of a fanbase, like at all. Especially when it's a game you feel has a lot of untapped potential. (If that makes sense 😅)

as an istp my side is more ENFP when gaming. The only games I've 100%'d are Drunken Wrestlers 2 and Garfield Kart: Furious Racing. Latter I bought as a joke with friends on launch date and we said "What if we played this game like 200 hours and left a nice review of it for the memes" but instead they only have played it 7 hours in the whole year and never left a review, I played 20 hours and had unlocked every achievement.
also in hidden identity games like Among Us I never kill anyone as impostor and tell honestly where I am as both, and do tasks quick either before or after I'm killed.
Also the ISTP qualities show in as I enjoy grinding as it's my equivalent of the "a lot of projects started, barely ever finished" stereotype associated with the personality.
I am an INFP and I do the same thing as you. I like to find ways to simplify my life and sometimes I don't hesitate to cheat or find hacks to achieve my goals easily. My logic is why do complicated when there are ways to do simpler... oh yes, the adrenaline and the sense of achievements obtained from the completions of the games... I can do without it.

I will say that there are some impulse buys I do - but the reasons I do it are that they are similar to what I like, are from the creator of an IP I like, or I watched gameplay and liked it. That semi-impulse buying I do got me into the soulsborne series and city builders as well as simulation games (like Civ 5, the best civ game).

As an INFJ, I freaking love Stardew Valley and it is really annoying for me to do all the things I have planned in a day. I mean, when it's the last day of doing one mission for someone who goes to their room (I haven't unlocked yet) plus I need to buy at Pierre's (last day to follow my organized schedule of which seeds buying), plus I need to go fishing because of the rain (per example, the last days of a season, so I cannot get that fish in other moment) I really disconnect the game and all my three farms are stopped because of the needing of mine of being efficient.

Last year for a school assignment, we had to play the equivalent of the 20 first level of a game and I continued playing that game until I arrived to what I thought was the end (level 100 or something). Turns out it was a bonus level that reset the game with an advantage. So I'm still playing until I arrive at the last level again. Pretty sure I'm the only one in my class still playing

Totally nailed the INTJ. I can hesitate for years before buying a game (and sometimes I still don't buy it), looking at reviews, trying to figure out if I'll like it, if it's worth the price. 😳
I just play it ilegaly, if I find is worth it I buy it to never ever touch it xd
Ditto for me, also applies to TV series & Anime.
I tend to wait till at least a whole season is out, see what the reviews are before I bother. So I am like, literally always a year behind everyone. LOL
The only exception has been during the Covid19 stuff, where I have had more free time than any other year of my life.
Reviews and tutorials are better than buying one 😏

@@amandacoelho9524 Well for starters reviews are a way to prevent problems before they happen and watching reviews before buying could be considered a problem solving behavior.
The other thing is that you need to feel confident in your decisions. I watch a lot of reviews but pay full price for games all the time, but that's because I do the math of how many hours of playtime there is, how well reviewers have rated the game, etc., etc. I've never really found a game that I couldn't find enjoyment of some form in, but my scope of what I find interesting is massive. The closest I've come to regretting a game purchase I've been in recent years was Death Stranding and that's mainly because I tend to dislike the tedious nature of the game.

INFP relating more to INTP with this one. I actually pretty much stick to RPGs as a genre for the story and immersion, but I do end up spending maybe more time looking up info about the game sometimes. Depends on the game, though (like I'm more likely to do this if it has complex systems).

Same! If I play a game I either put everything into it or I don't play it, there's no inbetween for me. Out of all my friends I have the highest amount of achievements in Genshin Impact (And the ones based on RNG trigger me so much...) and when there's a new patch I always speedrun the new achievements first. Feels good man

I (ISFJ) do like the Legend of Zelda. I love how they decided to bring back the earliest concept of a big world to explore for BOTW, but in 3D. It's funny, because while I do like Ocarina of Time, I don't think it is a superior Zelda title, unlike a lot of other people who prefer the classics.

I'm an INFP and I think all I played when I was young was Sims and Harvest Moon. All the other games I know are from watching my two older brothers play! I enjoy watching them play video games (Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, etc.) more than I like playing them myself.

I'm INFP and I like open world survival sandbox games to an UNHEALTHY degree. Was a bit disappointed that the guy didn't talk about his 1500 hours on ARK.
INTJ here: James is always right, I like MMORPG's and most of the time they're free to play. I am not impulsive with buying games. I always check reviews, watch on CZcams for 1 hour game play, and most of the time I wait for the good sales to come by.
