- Dos Hombres Mezcal is a mezcal owned by Aaron Paul & Bryan Cranston, or better yet Jesse Pinkmen and Walter White. In this video, I give you my honest review of Dos Hombres mezcal, the Breaking Bad Mezcal.
Dos Hombres is a Mezcal brand that retails for anywhere between $50 to $60 depending on where you buy it. They are made in San Luis Del Rio, in Oaxaca Mexico.
Mezcal is one of the most complex spirits out there and it can be very hard to know which ones are worth spending time and money on. Mezcal is becoming incredibly popular and there are tons of brands popping up left right and center, and now even celebrities are getting the mix.
Dos Hombres has been making waves on social media due to how famous their owners are, and its following the trend of celebrity involvement into spirits.
In this Mezcal Review I try to go in depth by giving you the break down on what Dos Hombres is, what it tastes like and finally, I give you my final thoughts on Dos Hombres Mezcal.

@@DENVEROUTDOORMANIf you don’t know who Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul is they are the creators of Dos Hombres and they were also actors in breaking bad and Walter white known as Bryan Cranston cooks meth with Jesse Pinkman also known as Aaron Paul and later on in season 1 or 2 they create a meth batch and this time it is blue and that’s the reason why people are saying it should have been blue.
I tried this a week after Bryan Cranston & Aaron Paul had their Dos Hombres Mezcal release party at Napoleon House in New Orleans.. I ordered it neat (of course) and let it sit for just a minute or two before swirling the glass, taking in the aroma then having a generous sip.. The taste was the quality I expected although the mouth feel was a different game and they won. I loved it. Best part was, it was the smoothest liquor I’ve ever had.. hands down
99,1% pure. Best stuff in the market

I picked one up for $40 and it’s fine. Not really particularly noteworthy. The mezcalero has some good stuff under his belt, I didn’t think this was bad at all. It was just fine. I think it would be a perfectly fine cocktail espadín, but its a little lacking to be a sipper imo. I didn’t get the after taste you got but I definitely felt that it opened up decently.

My LA Rams just partnered with Dos Hombres for Game day drinks. I might try their moscow mule, since the ginger beer might help with that after taste.

My thoughts exactly. The after taste was horrible. I didn't realize it was a celebrity owned product when I bought it
My wife and I love sitting on our patio with the fire pit, smooth music, and a great bottle of liquor. We vary the bottle to explore new aromas and taste. We tried this Mezcal from dos Hombres and HATED IT... I don't say that lightly. We have been to Mexico countless times ate the worm(even chewed it on a dare) and drank the mezcal scorpion.. This was by far the worst..😂😂We both have ever tried.😢
I think they picked the name as a kick back to Breaking Bad, how the show has the brand Los Pollos Hermanos. Could be wrong though. Shame it's not that great.
Yeah i can possibly see that being the case but either way i should care about this mezcal not because of who owns it but for what's in the bottle.
A lot of people have to realize that all the money that these 'celebrity' tequila's and mezcals cost the money is to pay the celebrities and not for the quality of the product.

Of course this is worth it. It comes boxed with a fever-tree grapefruit soda to make either a mezcaloma or a cranstonian. Fever-tree is the g.o.a.t. of grapefruit sodas.

It's good that you make a video about that. It's funny I heard about this mezcal not so long ago and today I see your video about it. It's a pity it's not that good since they looked passionate about their project, but I agree with you that It's not great they are relying on their stardom.
I discovered mezcal last year and learned to like it as It's not an easy beverage to drink. I would like to buy one but I'm from Belgium and live there at the moment so It's difficult to find here. I found some in a shop here called "mezcal de leyendas" and I looked for the 100% agave label which was there. I don't know much about mezcal and so wanted to ask you if you knew this brand and if you recommended it?
So i haven't had that one myself but i have seen it in a few places. You can try looking it up on Mezcal Reviews on Google to see. But i haven't tried that one myself unfortunately.
I'm not sure what's available there in Belgium but at the end of this video i did link to another video which has 3 recommendations for great mezcals that are affordable!
@@Lui_Fern Thank you very much for your quick answer. I did have a look, one of them had 3.5 stars our of 5, lots of positive reviews, but a few less good ones that made the score go lower, so I don't know what to make of it. Maybe I'll just take the risk and buy it.
Yes, I saw the video, it's nice, unfortunately I believe those will be harder to find in Belgium and I don't buy spirits very often so I don't generally try to buy cheaper ones.

Go to Oaxaca. Mezcal is made smokey and it's authentic so it's legit. I love making mezcalitas picante.

It's almost like a bourbon flavor. It's a cool unique flavored tequila. I like it for the shock factor alone. Dos hombres!

Yeah it was. Sorry, i edit all my stuff myself and i was struggling with the new lav mic transmitter i got. I had to learn a lot about it. My more recent stuffs been better but your right this video (and a few others I've posted around this time) we're not up to the quality i hold myself to
Thanks Lui - You have been over this with Tequila - Just say NO to celebrity liquor. If it was any good, it would not require a celebrity to sell it.
Yeah generally that's exactly how i feel hahaha it's famous for the person's name not for the quality. Even if it is quality or even decent, the celebrity shouldn't come first.
While I agree that this mezcal is not that great I will say that not all celebrity spirits are created equal. Something very important about this brand is that they have partnered with their mezcalero and share profits with them. They also have given back to the community by installing a water treatment plant for the town. Too many celebrities get into this game solely for the profit and essentially pillage the communities, which is not the case here. I'd say if this can get more people to drink mezcal and support the industry down in Oaxaca (which is the 2nd poorest state in Mexico), then all the better. But yes there is way better out there at the end of the day. I find it thin, too alcohol forward (even at 42 percent) and lacking in some character beyond some minerality and light smoke. That being said this stuff tastes amazing in comparison to something like Casamigos which is what is everything wrong with celebrity brands.
Nah, Casamigos is still one of the best tasting tequilas ever.

Me and my girl were really let down by the taste of this Tequila. Big fans of Aaron and Bryan, but boy, was this Tequila bad, not a fan of the taste at all.
