For anti-virus... the built in windows defender is actually pretty good.
just remember to keep it updated.
also the task scheduler can run things like the disk cleanup utility on certain intervals, without you having to do anything (and thus you dont have to remember, to do so!)
it can be pretty handy, and you can have it do all sorts of things

People don't seem to understand just how powerful power plans are when it comes to battery life. I'm getting 30-40% more battery time after I created my own plan with some really aggressive battery saving options, but will give me the best performance when I'm plugged in. It really goes a long way.
EDIT: Make sure you know what you're doing. Do some research before you dive into this. Most options there have no explanation given by windows.

What i do when setting up a new laptop is to see if there is an available ICC profile for the built in LCD. This helps in color accuracy and making sure it looks really nice. I use this on old computers and you'd be suprised once the lcd is calibrated its a joy to use and easier on the eyes.

I really would not recommend turning windows sounds off entirely. Sometimes critical things that didn't pop up will still play the windows error sound, or if a device suddenly disconnected and you cant figure out why its not present, the sound will play. The windows sounds play a very important role in the system.
If the sounds too obnoxious, just open the audio Volume Mixer and turn down System Sounds a little bit.

You are absolutely right. Defender has 4.5/5 stars in malware detection.

If you only download from official sites and use an ad blocker with fanboy lists you shouldn't need anything, if you're pirating I'd rather something like virus total and use trusted uploaders as much as possible than have antivirus. Windows defender takes the least resources though but if all you care about is getting the most performance and you're cautious you could get away without one.

I think it's comical that I think all of the best Windows 11 tips are the ones that make it look and behave more like Windows 10.
Seriously, the simplified right click context menus? Who the hell asked for that? Like the center taskbar, it's clearly Microsoft marketing saying "people really seem to love that MacOS, bet if we copy a bunch of that look and feel while making it feel childish and basic by hiding options and customizations, we might slow down the number of people who switch every year.

There's so much crap that opens on startup and I don't know what any of it does... How do I know what to keep and what to remove?

I would not recommend turning off sounds and notifications altogether. Just disable individual apps notifications that annoy you. You might miss some critical notifications, like, what's the point for recommending a third-party antivirus but blocking all the notifications, you won't get any warning about potential risky/harmful apps can you?

Hello. Very useful tips and tricks. One question though. I have the lenovo IP5 pro. Every time I open the lid of my laptop, it boots up. Without pressing the power button. How can I disable that? I searched everywhere and I can't find this option. Thank you in advance. Greetings from Athens, Greece. 🙂

I have a Question, I am currently Using Asus Vivobook M1403QA Laptop Ryzen 7 5800H with integrated Graphics. Do i need to install the latest driver update on the official amd website or just stick to the Original Equipment Manufacturer's Driver ?
Because the original drivers has Display problems, and if i Install the latest version of the Amd drivers Chromium based Browser when i play youtube fullscreen with subtitles has Display issues ( like when I enable the subtitle it Shakes for some reason ).
