  • Lakewood Ranch New construction developments are all very busy at this time. With about 22 new construction developments going on, what would you consider adding to your new home during the structural and design process? In this video, I cover 10 important items you should consider when building a new home here in the Lakewood Ranch area.

This man is right on the money in all the items he mentioned. I had 7 regrets out the 10 he mentioned but I learned my lesson on my second build.

Felix, thanks for the post. I hope it can help someone else when they decide to build.

Yes I would like a layout of the whole Lakewood Ranch area with details of each area and the lot sizes shown on a map of Lakewood Ranch and I would especially like pricing per lot included. I watched a very long video about all the many communities within Lakewood Ranch but I would have liked to ask questions and couldn't because it was just a CZcams recorded video. I love that area and I do like the Arthur Ruttenberg homes and I've already picked one out but I need to be convinced that moving to Lakewood Ranch in Sarasota would be my best move from Lakeland. I've already reached out to the Lakeland counterpart here in order to get a takeoff of the model I'm considering. I'd also I want to make some changes to this particular plan to make it ADA compliant without it looking like it's ADA compliant. And I'd also like to know which neighborhoods within Lakewood Ranch will allow you enough room for a circular drive and then a front entry for four car garage two on each side

Great info as always! What are the costs for the sliders? Are there no privacy fences allowed? We have a dog and I also do like my privacy in my own backyard without having the neighbors glance over. Can you walk the dog in the neighborhood on the sidewalks? Leashed and cleaning up is a given for me!

Hi BerlinBeach Kat, the hurricane sliding doors can be pricey, $15k is not unusual depending on size. Usually the privacy in the neighborhoods is done with different plant material, not privacy fences. And this is a very dog friendly town, and people everywhere walk their dogs.

Hi Mark wanted to ask if all the lite/power switches come standard there as quiet type, so you do not wake people who are sleeping when they are switched on/off. I think there are standard but just wondering because where I live can not find them in any home or hardware stores. But then Hawaii is pretty backward. Fred Flintstone must have bought them all. LOLs

Hi Peter, I think they ear the quite type. I know most are the wide flip style. I don’t hear them when we switch them on and off.

Mark. I’ve watched a bunch of Lakewood Ranch videos and I don’t think I’ve heard mention or seen houses with solar panels? Do HOAs prohibit them?

Great question, there is actually a community here called Polo Run and all the homes have solar. I believe In other communities you can have panels on the roof as long as it’s not visible from the street.
