I wished CA gave us a "save army" button (a snapshot of their current stats and abilities, including all current campaign buffs), and allowed us to reload these in custom battles to pitch them against each other, or against endless waves survival battles. Something to test the metal of ultra late game stacks.
I don't know how likely that is to be officially added.
I think the closest we could get from CA is something like extra tabs for every unit that has toggles for every kind of (or probably most but not all) campaign modifiers, which I can see with mods, but CA? Idk.
It's mettle, not metal. But yeah.
You could always use mods.
Just have your chosen lord grant whatever buffs you want to his army innately. It's not hard to see what buffs you can get from various sources, so you can just add em all together and then you'll end up with the same stats.

@Frank Pulmanns I don't know... testing the mettle of ultra late game armies is pretty metal...
This one is mine, I just got curious about their maximum weapon strength and this was more of an afterthought after conquering the map and knowing I had both skarbrands and belakors traits. I included sea encounters because this is meant to be a theoretical army in which the units get pushed to the max to discover what their limits are, not a practical doomstack that's not reliant on temporary buffs.

I don't like adding sea encounters to all of these doomstacks. That way almost any unit can become OP. Beserkers are badass tho
Yeah, it gives off the vibe of trait managed oneman doomstacks. In theory you can do that, but it just really far-far from normal gameplay
imo hero buffs research buffs and even some trait buffs(Ex. Nkari speed buff for a cav army) is fine and gettable but ALL the sea encounters for that temporary boost? too far
It´s only a temporary Buff so on Practicality Rating a big Minus.
yeah. I think it should only be buffs you can always rely on to find and are (more or less) permanent that should count.
Yeah it’s way too situational imo.
Have you considered asking folk to send in their best designed turn 10 army? It would be very informative for new players, especially if trying out legendary difficulty for the first time. You could review the turn 10 army and make suggestions on how it can be used to make a legendary campaign easier.

That's impressive and dedication to building a doom stack. It would be interesting to see the SO doomstack go up against this. In fact,it would great to see some of the more recent doomstacks go 1v1 with no AI. I'd watch a whole series of that

A marauder javelin anti-doomstack-stack might be funny. steal some +range heroes from other factions and watch them vaporize large targets

I just wanted to say I appreciate this recent streak of non chaos dwarf videos.
Marauder Berserkers are absolutely my favourite unit. They truly personify the concept of a Berserker: injury fuelled, rage driven monsters that see nothing but red in battle.
Glad Norsca is getting some love here. Norsca doomstacks are either devastatingly strong or hilariously weak and memey. And this one ended up being devastatingly strong. Though I'd partially chock that up to the sea encounter buffs and facing a decent Empire army rather than an endgame army.
But it's great to see Norsca doomstacks here, even if they're rare and hard to come by. Either because they are actually very weak or really expensive. But when done right, like in the video here, the doomstack can be done, and can be good.

I tried this in a Wulrik campaign earlier this year. I didnt go out of my way to get sea bonuses but eventually berserkers were awesome. You can get a full stack very cheap and quickly, and they absolutely work, specially if you can get 2 armies. 40 zerker marauders are very cost effective, no matter against what jaja.
Also agree on the nurgle LL you get from dedicating. You can actually have his army have more HP, regen, more regen cap... just awesome jaja.

I think main problem for this one its not really a berserker doomstack. Its more like sea encounter doomstack then actual unit. Berserkers are actually reallly good unit (its only tier 2 and its reallly easy to get them) but they wouldnt be even close to be that good without sea stuff.
Purblespew could get SOME of the things the sea encounters do.
dude slams his greatsword into a near naked dude, 75% of his strike just seems to bounce off, the dude that should have been cut in 2 is just lightly injured, the wounds start healing instantly, he swings back and dices through plate armor and killing him instanty, now theres over 1000 of these dudes
Chaos was really cool when they released Immortal empire with the new LL. You can now increase stats of marauder horsemen so much, they increased ammo, damage, leadership and armor with ressources, i remember having fun with empty garrison keeping at bay armies thanks to the stats buff

To be fair, rangers were against a fair stronger enemy, and for a tier one unit was actually pretty good
As someone who is currently ON a Wulfrik campaign, this pleases me greatly...particularly as Beserkers are the only Marauders (regular or Champion) whom I remotely care about. Pethaps I will attempt to replicate this later...or as someone who is also messin' with Cryswar's Peacehammer in said campiagn, perhaps it's time to roll up with a a FULL FRENZY stack with the Brutes of the Hound at the helm...
...hold up, where are the Brutes of the Hound in this army?
A series saying what are the benefits for getting resources such as metal/gold/wine etc, for each faction would be highly beneficial
I think aside from upkeep reduction, most factions don't get anything from resource buildings

@@banilo1022 Well I mean, that Recruit Rank is really good for Grimgor, cause you can quite easily get Black Orcs to recruit at Rank 9.
If I remember correctly, Norsca gets a special tier 2 building for every resource that doesn’t give as much income, but gives slight factionwide buffs for certain units (depending on the resource) that increase their fighting effectiveness. For most other factions the buildings give income and reduce upkeep and such
These aren't vanity projects, they're dedication projects. Can't imagine how many hours this would have taken to do.

Norsca has been my "main" faction since they came out. Haven't played them as much in wh3 as in the previous games, since there has been so many new and interesting faction. But i really like how they are in wh3. Berserkers is one of my favourite units in the game and it was always sad when i had to phase them out later in game with stuff like mammoth doomstacks in wh2.

while those minmaxed doomstacks with sea treasure buffs are really unrealistic and should for the temporary buffs alone only have a max rating of 8/10 i still kinda like seeing the possible potential. But what we really need are more of those surprisingly efficient early and midgame doomstacks as most people dont even play long enough to min max an army to this degree.
I'd love to see some crapstacks, even maybe ranking those, talking about those does the nasty skulkers crapstack still hold water?
Would be interesting to see these guys against some daemons.
@Legandoftotalwar.. why dont you use the leaders aura thats a part of the buff? So in turn one wishes to test mano e mano then your hero leaders shoul nywt theirs?

They are also affected by some norsca specific technologies + antirace techs, maybe even one of those important race capitals somehow enhance them? They usually enhance all race or specific troop, but used to be pretty substantial. Not sure now in WH3 , where nerfing everything arround is a custom now.

I ve done about 170-180 weapon strength with valkia chosen doom stack.
But they are really slow
Legend, you should do doomstacks ONLY without sea ecounterss buffs!That was not really a norscan proper doomstack with all those pirates op buffs.
The guy painted the map to get these stats. I respect his commitment and assure him of my admiration. But any army will be ridiculously strong if you paint the map to collect al the buildings that give global army/units buffs. You could build an army of god-tier bretonnia peasants by capturing all the major settlements and building armouries in them.
Would love to see a doomstack-before-turn-50 series, with also a limit on the number of settlements. In short, a doomstack that we can build *before* winning the campaign.

While I do think that this is very impressive, I do prefer doomstacks that don’t have all sea encounter buffs
Question for anyone who’s played norsca recently. Is the favour of the gods mechanic still bugged? Does it still not lock when one of them reaches 100%? That took the wind out of my sails last time I played them after managing to get as many rewards as possible

@@DIEGhostfish no no, I like that, it rewards effort. I like having the choice of getting an easy turn 30 loyalty reward or piling up undivided rewards until turn 100+ for massive bonuses.
The problem was that after I calculated everything and managed to get each god's favour to the maximum it would go (one to max 100, another one to about 90 and the other two at around 60) it SHOULD lock, meaning that after that point anything you do is not going to influence those numbers.
It didn't.
What that meant was that for every razed settlement I'd LOSE overall favor, since I'd win a little with one of them and lose the one I had with the rest, forcing me to give up everything I had managed to achieve up to that point and ruining the undivided vibe. Very frustrating

You should compile all of the doom stacks you have reviewed, and pit them against each other in Ai vs Ai to see which doom stack is the best.

Bro, the beserkers are running at 59 speed... You could run circles at most infantry. And with some ice wolves, you could outrun heavy shock cav and just make fun of shit
The sea encounters should be excluded from doomstack videos because those buffs are temporary. What's the point of showing a crazy and OP stack when it's going to lose a bunch of stats in a couple turns?

I dislike seeing doomstacks with the insane sea event buffs. These buffs are temporary, annoying to get them all, and provide insane bonuses that would make basically any doomstack far more powerful. Even crapcstacks can become insane doomstacks with just a couple of these sea event buffs.
There so op in most of my empire campaign I use a mod to use diplomacy have them wage war against each other cause the northern waste land sucks ass

I love your content, but I don't understand the point of these series when you collect a million water buffs and regen, That's not realistic or interesting benchmark IMO. I'd rather prefer to see stack vs stack with only base buffs from the lords.
bruuuuhh.... why accept regen armies... ik its not uncommon but thats literally "cheatting" compered to normal doomstacks.. ofc zerkers are insane with this lvl of dps but they would die to many things so easy without regen
most monster infantry has worse stats xD
