I appreciate the editing. Jiri interviews are often hard to watch unless you put them on 1.5x speed or more. This one was so easy to listen to as a result of the extra effort that went into editing.

For me wrestling take down defense is probably the most important underestimated skill in mma
It's hard to speak for isolated skills. It's like rock/paper/scissors. The best is to know a bit of everything (ideally a lot of everything). But talking about 1 particular arts, there are always gonna be holes in the context of MMA.
You're partially right. Of course against a striker takedown defense won't be that useful, but generally speaking takedown defense will help against almost anyone.

Jiri definitely wouldn't be doing too much hard sparring before a fight... he got a black eye from choosing a tree with a bad attitude to train with.
He's dealt with the snub of being a prelim fight very well. Owns that he deserves better, but not going to let it bother him. We can do all the bitching for him. Outfuckingrageous and the UFC don't seem to know how to even organise a celebration and let the manipulative grifting relax for five minutes.
Oh, it's gotten vicious on the twatters. Well, the delay gets them on 300... but as a prelim. So Jiri was right to wait out the date.
The staredown. JIri's music and demeanour was the driving force. Alex plays his part nicely, but that is what he does, every fight. But Jiri provided the energy, gave it that gladiatorial brilliance.

You are right he lost the fight, the stoppage was a bit early, he could have worked a bit more, but it is what it is, are you here to listen for the interview or just flame on the guy cause he lost a few months ago? The thing about Jiri is he always comes back.
@@savapetkov1315Was an acceptable stoppage, but early for a championship fight for sure. It seems like in both of Pereira’s championship stoppages, the ref’s reasoning was “there was potential for damage” and not about actual damage happening. We also don’t really know how dangerous Alex’s ground and pound really is.
He said that he made a mistake and he wants to fight again because he believes he's better. Where's the excuse in that statement?
