Subjects such as this, should be at the top of discussion agenda in regards to Scotlands future. I'm a unionist, I back the UK, however, even the strongest of Scottish Nationalists surley must see that breaking away would loose Scotland thousands of these types of jobs. It would also significantly weaken Scotlands defence capabilities, especially in times of war when assets are lost and the ability to replenish quickly is critical . These are really important discussion points, and it's clear we're stronger together - the evidence is in this video.
I cannot wait to see this class sail alongside the Type-45 in a Queen Elizabeth class carrier battle group. A devastating projection of power and strength that only a select few nations in the world can put to sea. Great Britain is back, the lion has awoken from it's slumber.
Battle groups in 2019 are watched by Satellites and can be targeted and sunk from anywhere. What I see is another stupid conflict coming, and this Battle Group might as well fly the Stars and Strips for all the operational freedom it'll ever command.
Satellites can track aircraft carrier sized targets, yes, and will soon have the ability to track frigate and destroyer sized vessels if improvements in camera and sensor tech improve at the same rate they currently are, but no country on the planet, including china and the USA, have enough satellites to do this effectively over a large enough area to make any difference to operations for the target country or the tracking country. At some point geostationary satellites may make this possible, but even then, counter weapons will be produced that will cancel out a large amount of the edge this could give a country.
One of my best friends served his welder's apprenticeship on HMS Invincible at Barrow. The skills he learnt there have served him well for the past 40+ years
Great ship with great weapons systems and one of the best if not the best missile systems in the world even the USA say it is. Oh now being fitted with dragonfire laser weapon very cool weapon in deed.
@Neil Stevens Because the US admitting you have a strong, non US built, weapon system, is quite a good thing. Even for allied countries it is common for the american "everything american is better" thought process to result in them distrusting/disliking foreign projects and systems. Them saying it looks like one of the best in the world is a good sign.
3 year ago video , I have deleted a video that I have seen as obsolete after a few months, oh well if the Royal Navy keeps getting advertising revenue, it will compensate for the lac of government funding maybe!
It's a plc.But the government owns 1% share or a golden share. Which prevents the company from making any amendments to its articles of association without the Secretary of states permission.
According to UK Defense Journal ~35% will be sourced in country, and the rest foreign imports. According to BAE systems, the main reason is that many of the steel types needed are not produced on a large enough scale in the UK to make the procurement of said steel from UK companies financially viable. However with the QE class carriers, only ~3% of the steel used was from foreign sources, just as an interesting side note. However, if there is enough incentive, then the percentage of foreign steel used may decrease if more UK companies decide that they want to bid for BAE to use their steel instead (i'm not sure if that's actually possible, just making an assumption).
If Corbyn had won in November we would have been lucky if it got two .50 cal machine guns with 10 rounds each. With Boris Johnson & Dominic Cummings it will be 20 rounds
We must never let separation happen better together what will the Scottish government do if ships are built elsewhere and what are they going to do about protection for themselves a lot to think about I say leave it alone and live together
The Type 45 doesn’t have the firepower of the US, Russian and Chinese destroyers and lacks a long range land attack capability. I hope they learn these lessons and stop bean counting. Good luck to the Type 26
I don't get why people make a fuss over it being made in the UK as if... a) That's anything new (I can't think of any commissioned warships of the RN to be made outside the UK since the lend-lease ships in WW2, plus any ships taken as prizes) b) That's any sort of quality assurance.

Utter wank
@sparkiegaz
You sound really jealous 😂

So glad we are getting a HMS Cardiff. Was gutted when the last HMS Cardiff was scrapped
Good to see we’re working on the next ships.
England is 86% of UK by population . .More by financial contribution .
Served on the Cardiff 81-83, nice to see the old girls name on the new batch
God bless the Royal Navy 😊😊.

I was going to buy shares in BAE but my broker says that ship may have sailed.
Really smart looking ships! And not a rivet in sight! I understand now why they’re using robot narrators! Ock aye the noo!
What type of steels are used??
Carbon steel.
I think this tech is how Australia will build its ships and subs.
How the hell do they even understand each other without subtitles?
What language are they speaking ?

Who owns BAE systems? Is government owned?
Various people, you too could own shares, it's publically traded.

Thought the RN where looking at buying Australia's built radar .?
Fucking GOOD ! :)
Thank heavens for automatic english subtitles. ;)
Polite question were you buying your steel from

@@kimjonglongdong3158 thanks
A lot of the Steel used comes from Sweden, its a particular Plate Steel that couldnt be sourced in the UK.
Awesome looking ship, just need the gov to stump up money for some decent weapons to put on it.

How about something comparable to the Lider class.
@Blob B why do you think
Australia build the 9 you said you would
It's a warship.

you need me to make army tech computers and Nahelm to the God of army 0010110
aliens bible
@phil stabler
Better if it was translated 😁
What language are they speaking ?
Glasgow is that the ship we give the Scots if they go independent.
No, we just rename it if they go independent and keep it.
We’ll give them the border cutters
Interesting 2 frigates would be about the Scotlands split of the navy, and there happens to be two Type 26s named after Scottish cities.
Well hope we stay together.
@@TheFreshman321 definitely.

0010110 we can do or build or have anything God code and cuts out Qutamum machines
Wonder how many of these super skilled builders will still be in work when the SNP take scotland back into europe.
God before all we make as his creation so we can create in the image of a creator
true image of God is to create
What a shame all those jobs building these ships will be moved south when Queen sturgeons Scootland leaves the union !!
