Thank for posting! This is timely as my husband and I are traveling to Monterey in a couple weeks. He used to live there and we can't stay away for long. It's great to see some of the old haunts and a few new ones to try out.

That big plaza, the Pacific House Museum and Custom House are part of Monterey State Historic Park. And the Cooper Molera adobe is not part of State Parks

It’s so funny to hear Alvarado described as historic, since to me it was just: The place I worked and occasionally got donuts from. Glad to see Music Unreasonable, I mean Unlimited is no longer there.

    Hi!
I am asian and thinking of moving to Monterey County. Are the locals accepting of people of asian descent? I remember my white friend saying locals in Monterey can get as cold as ice especially to outsiders and minorities.
    How true is this?
Really grateful to have come across your video!
    God Speed!

Hey Jesse thank you for your comment and question. Monterey has a pretty diverse population and people of all races and backgrounds have played really important roles in the history of Monterey. I tend to find people in Monterey are pretty friendly and accepting. Of course you'll have some people who aren't like that as you would find almost anywhere. If you have any other questions or I can help with your move to Monterey please let me know! toby.fernie@gmail.com and 831-233-0586.
